How To Read The Play As A Goalie

  • A big part of Goaltending is reading the situation in front of your net and anticipating the play. This allows us to prepare for the most likely play and get one step ahead of the shooter. On this episode of #TechTipThursday we take a look at 2-on-1 and 2-on-2 situations and how the puck position, stick position, and body language can give away the intentions of the puck carrier. Now with this said, the keyword is anticipation. We do not want to cheat the play and give up a goal on a low angle shot.
