I must confess I took my Lunchie for a little rip (before painting) and I was all smiles. What a great way to renew the joy of the RC hobby! Liked and subscribed.

      I made some flush mounts for the rear LED kit so the light doesn't protrude. Hopefully they're bright enough to shine through the stickers which they should be. Made an electronic on/off switch for the lights too so they can be controlled from the Tx.

      Thanks for the comment, and yes if you are not using a heavy touch it should be fine, you only need a light keying so the paint has something to grip. Green is a great colour for a Lunchbox and you can get 3rd party decals in different colours so you could have quite a unique looking box 👍

    thanks for sharing these videos , ive bought a lunchbox recently and i also have the globe liner tamiya 1/14 truck and the paint for that its a chrome yellow abd i think as i have built the lunchbox already and i don't have yellow i may use the chrome yellow as the box of the truck and the box of the lunchbox looks very similar if anything the truck is a little deeper in color and if thats going to be a better option i am going to step out the box and do that i have also ordered another lunchbox body shell (in black) only$60 AUD for all the parts and decals and chrome bits to make up a running shell and keep Vanessa's box in good looking condition , we don't want a messy scratched up box now do we , so hopefully all goes well

    I like using this for Bandai parts figure rise standard. One thing I dont like is that it is not as easy to cover with. It takes some passes before you get it good. This came out beautifully. Can I ask a question? So im trying to paint my hard body but everytime i use the tamiya masking tape to make the lines so I can paint the other side a different color when I take the tape off it leaves a streak of residue that makes me have to start all over and sand it and paint again but all I will be doing is going is circles. My question is if I leave the residue will this clear coat cover it and make is vanish? Or do you have a suggestion to get rid of the residue? Before you suggest some products I did some researching and I tried Wd40, Water, Goo Gone and using more tape to stick it and bring it up but none of these work. Thanks for any help!

    • @RCsoandso
      @RCsoandso  Před 2 lety +1

      All questions accepted here! How long do you leave the tape on? One thing I do is if painting 2 colours, after I put the tape on I hit it with the original colour again before applying the new colour as this stops bleeds and gives a neater line. One thing you could try is once the paint if fully dry, try using a wet (with just warm water) cotton bud as the glue on the tape is water soluble and the paint shouldn’t be. I tend to not leave the tape on too long also after painting, mainly because I’m impatient but also it seems to come off easier. Hope some of this helps 👍

    • @RCsoandso
      @RCsoandso  Před 2 lety

      @@bigwhop136 it depends on conditions. If it’s warm dry weather it’s quicker than if it’s cold and damp. The longer you leave it the harder it will be. I would say 24 hours before you could clear coat it but give it a couple of days if you are adding tape to do a 2nd colour, gives the paint time to bond to the plastic, or undercoat 👍
