- I dare you to NAME A BETTER FISH! Okay so it definitely comes down to your personal preference, but Threadfin Salmon is my favourite go to species. They're not always easy to catch or find, but when you hook one.... that's where it's at! They are just an insane powerhouse of a fish cutting water, burning drag and turning sporadically. If that doest get your heart racing I don't know what else will. Enjoy the footage I've put together guys.

We have been cleaning up for threadys around goodna aswell lately there are fish everywhere.

It’s hard to say with threadys whether leader size makes a difference, cause you’ve got quite dirty water too. But I think in some circumstances they can definitely tell. Sorry that probably doesn’t really answer your question, if anything just leaves you wondering more 😅

But they do look like they are reacting to it like they have seen it on the live ..

We love to eat their relative(Pacific Threadfin) here in Hawaii, and it was considered the “Fish of Kings” in the ancient times. Wish our threadfin got as big as yours though.
They’re a great table fish. Taste amazing, but they are difficult to fillet with bone nodes along their spines and fins. They can get trully massive over here.
Im the same man i hate it when they get gone with crap in there mouth, all these people way too light gear and i have mates that can only granny knot tackle seen it happen too many times

😂😂😂 it’s definitely brissy. Just in the upper reaches. There’s so much untouched parts of the system, but it can be challenging to find fish at times.
I'd be going back up to the Northern Territory if I were you better fishing,much much cheaper and I'd come with you if I could.

@@davidraguse2106 it’s good picture quality is awesome, processing power is a bit slow (takes a while to turn on) and I wouldn’t say it’s user friendly. It takes a while to dial in your settings it’s not super simple to just push a couple buttons and have it dialled. I still use a humminbird for my side imaging as it’s way more user friendly.

I wasn't rooting for the fish...I know how it feels to lose a big fish...it's not fun.

For a fish that doesn't have that big paddle tail,like a Jew for example,they go bloody hard don't they.

Back in the 70s and 80s we didn't use leader,we used wire trace....what's changed?
Can't really throw a lure with wire trace.
@@LankyLarrikin we did,and quite successfully given the amount of fish we have caught over the years on a rod with a wire trace.

Yeah remember the days up in Aurukun using 12” wire trace. Funny thing its the last thing I would think of doing now days.
