🔹 Information about Similan
The Similan Islands are located about 100 km from Phuket. The only way to get to the archipelago is by water. Is it possible to go to the Similan Islands on your own? This is theoretically possible, but due to changing regulations this option is unreliable (overnight stays on Similan are not available to tourists in 2024, and the ferry schedule is inaccurate). That is why tourists most often go to the Similan Islands with an excursion.
The Similan Islands are an archipelago of 11 islands in the Andaman Sea. They are united in the Similan National Park and are protected by the Thai government. Of the 11 islands of the archipelago, 2 or 3 are open to tourists - differently every year. The Similan Islands are closed to visitors from May to October.
Snorkeling in Similan is considered the best in Thailand. In addition to a variety of fish and reefs, you can find sea turtles here.
🔹 Excursion to Similan
The price of the excursion I was on included transfer from Phuket hotels and back, a trip to the Similan Islands National Park with a visit to two islands (entrance fees included), snorkeling equipment and meals.
Food during the excursion - light breakfast on the pier, lunch in lunch boxes on the islands, snack on the pier before returning to the hotel. Tourists are provided with drinking water by the excursion organizers throughout the tour.
