Metallica and Marianne Faithfull, oh my what a magic, priceless song. I’ll always love. Never understood why some people didn’t like it?
It was this song that made me initially pay attention to Metallica as a kid in the 90s.
This album they cut their hair, started getting airplay on mainstream top 40 stations, so some fans accused them of selling out. They didn't. They're a good act, people heard that, bought their stuff, and they grew. It's strange how humans will turn on their beloveds, sometimes, once others realize how special they are.

The creepiest part of the song. Hearing her sing it still brings chills down my spine, even in 2021.
What i can say her voice is iconic and soothing at the same time.
Back when this was first released, the "old lady" singing that creeped me the FUCK out. 25 years later, I can't believe I thought that was an old lady lol... it was Marianne Faithful, Mick Jagger's ex and one of the most notorious groupies in rock history.
🤘
If world-weariness had a voice, it would be Marianne Faithfull's... but the funny things is: Faithfull has been sounding like - let's put it bluntly - like she was just about to kick the bucket for over forty years now. But wouldcha believe it - it's been 42 years since "Broken English" and 25 years since THIS song came out and she's still doing her thing.
@@american_cosmic notorious groupie ? Not really, She still is a pretty respected musician in her own right, Broken English is a classic and she was more of a icon in the 60s instead of the term “groupie”
