- The Attersee (also Kammersee) is a lake in the Upper Austrian part of the Salzkammergut in the Vöcklabruck district and lies at 469 m above sea level. A. (meters above Adriatic). The outlet of the Attersee is the Ager, which drains into the Danube via the Traun. With its diverse banks, the nutrient-poor lake offers habitats for many animal and plant species and has been designated as a Natura 2000 area since 2006. With over 46 km² of water surface, it is the largest lake in Austria. At 169 meters, it is the third deepest lake in and around Austria after Lake Constance and Traunsee and, with a water volume of almost 4 billion cubic meters, is only exceeded by (the entire) Lake Constance. The Attersee, owned by the Austrian Federal Forests, is an important tourism destination in Upper Austria and a popular swimming lake as well as a diving and sailing area. On the banks of Lake Attersee there are remains of Neolithic pile-dwelling settlements, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps.

Der Attersee, einer der schönsten Seen im Salzkammergut. Im Sommer klares türkisblaues Wasser, einfach unvergleichlich! Hach, wenn doch schon wieder Sommer wäre!

We sit at the fire on Friday night at Eurocamp Attersee. I'm the guy with lots of face hair 🤣😂.
On Saturday we spend some time on the riverbank, drinking and listening to music. We chatted about peaky blinders, Robert Plant and shared a few stories.
I was in one of the bands that played at the festival.
