“Ang proyektong ito at iba pang mga pabahay ng 4PH ay para sa mga minimum wage earners, ang ating mga informal settlers, mga nakatira sa danger zones, at sa mga kababayan nating naghahangad ng mura, simple, at komportableng bahay,” conveyed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. when he led the ceremonial groundbreaking of the Cebu City South Coastal Urban Development Housing Project at Barangay Basak San Nicolas.
As the event forms part of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s (DHSUD) flagship program, the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program, the President assured his countrymen of the Administration’s partnership with the House of Representatives to ensure the continuous implementation of the program that provides affordable houses to all Filipinos, especially those from the marginalized communities.
The 4PH aims to build six (6) million housing units from 2023 to 2028. With the first phase of the Cebu City South Coastal Urban Development Housing Project, ten (10) 20-storey buildings within the 25-hectare development site will be constructed to benefit around 8,000 informal settler families (ISFs) and low-wage earners in the City.
Citing the Administration’s commitment to build not just quality homes but safe and productive communities, President Marcos Jr. called on his countrymen, particularly the beneficiaries of the housing project, to take good care of their houses and to be mindful in conserving the environment.
“Layunin at hangarin ng pamahalaan na mabigyan ang bawat pamilyang Pilipino ng masagana, ligtas, at masayang pamumuhay,” said the Chief Executive.
“Gawin po natin ang lahat ng ating kakayanin upang makamit ang pangarap na bahay ng bawat Pilipino,” he added, closing his message.
