  • Andrea Bocelli and Antelope Audio founder Igor Levin chat about the Maestro's early influences, live performance and the evolution of sound technologies.
In our latest video we had the pleasure to meet Andrea Bocelli - one of the world's most beloved voices - a great and inspiring musician, an astonishing mind and a very humble person as well. Andrea Bocelli shares his biggest musical influence - Franco Corelli, a tenor and a student of the Italian baritone Arturo Melocchi. “If it hadn't been for him I probably wouldn't be singing, I would have spent my life doing other things”, says the Maestro.
Born in a small town, where he used to sing while riding a horse or during a walk in the fields, Bocelli admits that on the stage he still feels as free as back in his younger days. The most important thing for him during live performance is to listen and follow the orchestra “And then I sing like I do in my life”, he adds.
Having and working in the studio since he was 16 years old, the Maestro is completely aware of the fact the old equipment is slowly being replaced by the offsprings of the digital audio era we're living in. His own goal is to never lose anything of the live performances or studio works he's recording, which means he's constantly searching for contemporary means to improve his own digital studio setup.
