Some carats theorized that Darl+ing is inspired by Peter Pan, Hoshi confirmed in the behind the scene film that they're in Neverland. Some carats also theorized that they're playing the role of Peter Pan (or Lost boys) and Carats are Wendy Darling. About the dark world (or world of shadows?) If Carats have som3 theories about it please share it with me I'm freaking confused
I think (it's my theory) the chronological order of their song must be Darling -> Fear -> Don't Wanna Cry -> Lie again -> Fearless -> Ready to Love -> Rock with You. Maybe comeback will be telling the story between Lie again and Fearless.

My MV Storyline theory is...
They have been living happily without realizing that all this time they've been living without their shadows. (9:06)
Then Vernon discovered that they didn't have shadows and told them about it. (13:27 - 13:37)
Then Jun found the mural showing what's behind the tall red door (the darkness part) plus him finding that box in the water. (13:50)
They went past the door, time went fast , and that's when everything started to change. (18:01)
They saw night, especially Mingyu and Shua's parts when the "happy days" are suddenly gone and it's dark when they remove the blindfold. (20:45)
That box that Jun found contained whatever it was that Vernon was holding, it was like the sun and it gave them shadows. (21:44)
When they finally found their shadows, they were transported into a parallel world where darkness exists. (21:55)

Yes, don't be surprised about their English pronunciation, Vernon and Shua took turns watching over their recording... :))) Shua said they had to record DK's part "again I'm diving" he kept saying "gyeran (egg) diving", and it was funny for everyone, but yeah, they had to record again.. :))

In the MV filming behind, Hoshi confirmed that they were in Neverland, so the theory that this MV is Peter Pan-inspired, esp of the Lost Boys, is correct. And it fits to everything that happened. There's a deeper take of course once we get to Lost Boys, them staying as kids like the time has stopped so they didn't grow. But once they learned that there was actually a different (real) world, they had to face it. And we know how dark and harsh the real world can be, right? That's why in the end, they're wounded and had to face their fears (something that kids usually don't deal with).
A little theory circulating... This MV is Peter pan/ Neverland/lost boys themed.. svt representing peterpan's lost boys.(+ Hoshi confirmed that this was indeed their version of Neverland as seen on the mv's behind the scenes) The whole mv story line flows when they realize each of them doesn't have any shadows..(shadows represent their fear and their truth) to their journey each of their shadow started growing/showing .. hence the parallel world ..

i totally get it when you guys mentioned how 'Darling' definitely has this kind of "flavor" which i also couldnt pinpoint but is so good and addictive! there were some (very few people i know or saw) who felt quite underwhelmed with the sound (since its their first full english track as a group), but personally i love how it isnt over the top in your face "pop"..like it has this sort of tranquility and sweetness that is sooo distinctly "seventeen" & YES it is a bop. Pop song done right indeed (woozi you music genius!). 💛
also i think were getting a dark concept again. cant wait for their may comeback! were finally getting their 4th full album "Face the Sun" after An Ode in 2019 🔥

There are tons of hints with shadows and how they are being casted with sunlight in the MV. I think the next release will be a dark concept with all of these hints and undertones in this vid which is kind of like a setup for it

abt the svt storyline, I feel like they've always had some sort of storyline? just not in the form of this 1 consistent long-term narrative story perhaps? not sure either tbh since I haven't rly dived deep into lore/theories on their old stuff & not many ppl talk abt it I feel (rigendfilms seems to have smth in mind for them at least. they did their mvs for fear, rock with you, fallin' flower, etc.). I can see fear be somehow tied into this since that mv has tons of symbolism & imagery, fallin' flower had some theory on its own too, specifically rmbr smth abt how the flowers at the end of the mv were no longer falling, but rising to the top. don't wanna cry sorta had some story if you check out their al1 teaser (each member has a trailer, it's full of quotes & cinematic stuff).
iirc nu'est (their senior at pledis) also had a storyline as well, smth abt them being knights (a trilogy) & it involved a queen? if anyone knows more cmiiw. I feel like there was a point where nu'est & svt's storyline were intertwined sorta? don't rmbr much tho, aside from their collab performance stage at 2017 mama where they performed their song "heaven", the VCR for that had smth involved with time? it was written as Time Between Dog and Wolf. you don't know that song & haven't checked that out yet btw, hope you could someday watch it if you're interested! it's def one of my favs
just wanna add that there's some sunflower imagery shown during this mv. which has been used by svt quite a lot in their previous eras (specifically rmbr oh my! & getting closer mv). sunflowers always face the sun. 4th full album's called face the sun. so that's interesting. I see a lot of k-carats noticing stuff & making theories

Seventeen have a storyline but it is very hidden so not many Carats know about it, the storyline is mix of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan where Mingyu is Alice and Vernon is Peter Pan other members also have characters but I don't remember it you can find it on Twitter.
Yeah & it fits them. Both wonderland & neverland story is about time, tho their premise are opposite. While in neverland, the lost boys went there because they want to avoid growing old = eternal youth, in wonderland “Though taking risks can be scary (like crawling down a rabbit hole), but standing still can be scarier. Without taking risks and challenging ourselves, we don't grow. We really shouldn't be doing this, after all, we haven't been invited, and curiosity often leads to trouble.”

Peterpan & Alice actually has another universe where they’re siblings, i read it on google earlier. Hahahah
Also it’s a possible that they’ll reference Alice in wonderland for the next title track because of the hole & mirrors in Darling MV. Alice in Wonderland (she entered thru the rabbit hole) & Alice through the Looking Glass (thru mirrors). As opposed to Neverland, where youth is eternal & they never grow old, Alice in Wonderland stories have challenging lessons as we go thru adulthood, overcoming our growing pains (which what SVT will talk about in their full album)
I still don’t believe SVT has a solid worldview tho, the creative/art director of their MVs (either inhouse from pledis or someone they collaborate from RIGENDFILM) just merely use references from popular culture like peterpan etc, but SVT don’t have the usual worldview like other groups that connects the MV. They use inspiration which is pretty common for all creators to do & apply in their work, like IU has reference from Wonderland too with her Chatshire album. During Seventeen’s n Ode, the perfect material that mirror svt’s sensibility in that period as artists is Dead Poet Society so they use inspiration from that film in their teasers.
They’re mentioning growing pains & moving on from boyhood since Attacca and Peterpan is the perfect story to use as inspiration, and potentially Alice in Wonderland too in the next comeback (this is just my theory)

The concept is Peter Pan the Darling title is the last name of Wendy's character. There are Peter Pan clues all throughout the video. I wish people would quit trying to tie them into other groups and theories Seventeen are their own identity and don't need to be tied in with other Hybe groups. Pledis actually stiil.manages them even though they are on the Hybe label. Please let groups no matter who they are be themselves without trying to connect them to other groups. This song is about their fear of their fans outgrowing them and leaving them as they grow up and older.
At the same time I wish people would let fans have fun making theories. We are innocently connecting group theories because they're under HYBE. I understand they each respectively have their own stories. We're not taking anything away from individual groups and what makes them shine. Of course each group has their own concept. You're acting like we're forcing them to be in the same storyline. We're just observing and having fun. It's very obvious that each group have their own messages but as fans we're allowed to point out similarities.

How I explain this MV to people, as me who's not that familiar with Neverland and the Lost Boys: "Look....so it looks like such a bright MV...but there's something wrong.... Okay pause...what's written on the floor? REAL FEAR! Notice something else?! HE HAS NO SHADOW!!! They all don't have shadows!!!.... And Cheol was just playing with the members but he removes his blindfold AND HE'S ALL ALONE!!!! Look, they get back their shadows one by one. Now look at Jeonghan...he looks perfectly normal, but look at his reflection after he wipes the mirror! THAT'S DARK JEONGHAN!!! Now looks at them start to slowly crumble.... WOOHOO!!! Now they get pulled into a dark alternate universe!!!! Look at the "Fear is Coming" at the end!
Now we wait for the comeback this May to find out what happens to them!!!
