The exact car I wanted... Too bad dealerships were placing dealer add-ons to drive the price up to $40,000. I ended up buying a used 2021 non-hybrid.
I got lucky with my 2023 Corolla Hybrid AWD. My local Toyota sold it at MSRP while others had $5k up charge.
@@artmac9181 You're a fortunate man... Congratulations... You have an awesome car.
Beautiful looking car. Great video
Hi Marcello, I just drove a 2024 Corolla Hybrid SE for a week. I found it easy to connect my Android phone in a few moments. It was a absolute pleasure to drive this car. I had never driven a hybrid before. The car does everything by itself. The safety sense 3.0 was amazing as the car would slow down on it's own. I got between 44-60 miles a gallon (not sure what that is in km/h) combined city, highway. The car is zippy especially with the launch gear on the CVT. The visibility outward is excellent. Basically you are driving the former Prius with the 1.8 engine/Atkinson hybrid, made in Japan. I am a big guy and found the room and space more than enough, front and back. If you do not know anything about car's or hybrids, this is proven technology as this engine is tried and true for over 20 year's. The car passes between EV mode to ICE without you hearing it. The only comment I would note, if you are older, have a bad back or mobility issues, try a regular ICE engine model at a dealership to make sure you are comfortable. If this is a issue, go for the hybrid Corolla Cross (hybrid) with the 8 inch ground clearance. For the record, I have no affiliation to Toyota or any dealership. I am someone who rents a lot of cars on Turo (great place to try a hybrid model for a week like I did as a real time test drive), and from rental companies at Airports -:)
Thanks for the video Marcello! If you get a chance please review the Corolla LE Upgrade Package when available. Thanks again
Ok np.
Thanks for the video. I bought a brand new 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid SE with premium package, blue print color, 2 months ago. So far excellent car, i m a happy customer. Sadly, AWD option was not available for me unless huge delay. Music sound's OK but not wow, will try to find something else to improve it.
Please review the XSE I’m very interested
I have a lot to say about the Corolla, and nothing but good to say lol if anyone reading this is interested in getting a Corolla.. I would highly highly highly suggest the car if you are not spinning a ton ton of money.. But if you’re also looking for a great reliable vehicle… I’ve had this car for a couple of years.. never had one issue, not one issue.. Just a normal like changing the battery, oil, and tires but that’s the only thing you gotta really work on.. the car looks nice on the road… very sporty.. This car is not a disappointment at all..
Loved to get one but it’s a 2 year wait
I always enjoy your vehicle overviews Marcello, but this one was of particular interest to me as it's the exact model and trim level I'm looking to buy later this year! I know it isn't an exact science, but what would be your best guess as to wait times if I was to walk into the dealership looking to purchase this vehichle?
Thanks. You do need about 12 months or so
It's all dealer specific for getting inventory. Check more dealerships around GTA and they're all different for ETA.
I've managed to get roughly around 4.3L/100km(65 mpg) combined without a/c and moon roof open. I've done a mix of city and highway on normal driving mode for about and hour driving during normal traffic congestion . Best fuel consumption would be around 3.5L/100km (80mpg) around the city. Remember AWD corolla has an additional motor to the rear, so regenerative breaking is advantageous compared to FWD going down hills.
Great review, thank you. I have owned the US version for 2 months and love it. This replaces a much more powerful and thirsty Audi A3 Quattro. The US version gets an old school tach and speedo dash, but all of the information is displayed. In the US SE we can't get heated seats or steering wheel despite the AWD and the XSE doesn't yet come with AWD. The AWD is fantastic, it is torque vectoring and improves cornering stability even on dry pavement. Last week I drove up a twisty mountain road and was very pleased with the performance and handling. The 1.8 liter engine does have to work hard though. The CVT transmission is a mechanical marvel with two electric motors and a planetary gear set - it really is more of a power distributor, always at the most efficient gear ratio for a given load. There is a third electric motor to drive the rear wheels. I'm getting a pleasing 45 MPG average for city, freeway and twisty road driving. The trunk is a good size at 13 cu.ft. I can recommend this car.
It's not torque vectoring. Do your research again.
@@fcnghkkc1 Well the resulting performance is the same, even if the semantics are different. I have owned an Audi Quattro.
I have a 2023 corolla SE hybrid AWD in Vancouver. After running 22000km in odometer in real life, the dash always shows that the full tank mileage is between 630km to 650km. It never go above 700km. Mine shows 900+km when its new but it will reduce to 600+km after a while. Fuel consumption in real life is 5.2-5.8km/litre in summer and around 6.2-6.8km/litre in winter. LE hybrid would get better mileage than SE/XSE because LE has thinner tire so less rolling resistance. For the front passenger seat, it is a bit uncomfortable for me and my wife as it is not height adjustable and we are both around 175 cm tall. If you want pay extra 4000+ dollars to go for XSE because you want soft tex seat, I recommend just get SE trim and purchase custom fit leather/vinyl seat from internet and install it yourself. It looks OEM and it only cost me less than 400 CAD and I got the burgundy color which I like better than only black soft tex in XSE trim.
Do you mind sharing the link or brand of the leather covers you got. I am looking for my 2024 le hybrid as well.
Same. After fueling my Corolla will estimate 400 miles of range but I’ll never reach that. Maybe 350 miles at most.
Can you translate in American plz
My dealer just called me offering the car to me yesterday on giving this card to me for sale! But I’m just like I don’t know! I really like my payments where they are at because it’s what I can do.. and I’m sitting above the middle between a grand for payments… I really want the hybrid! But I just hope I could get a good deal on it, I really really do my appointment is next Monday to talk about it
I have the 2021 Toyota Corolla, SE.. the car is phenomenal. Definitely great on gas… but looking at the gas on the hybrid!!😮😮😮 this is hard to pass up 😅
When 2025 Corolla Hybrid will lunch ???
what is current wait time like in the GTA for base corolla hybrid with and?
15 months :(
@@ToyotaWorld thanks appreciate the response
@ToyotaWorld why review a car that we can not get? 15months from now will be next gen corolla with different spec and price.
Of course you can get it, just need to wait. Some wait times are longer than others and vary from region to region
Sometimes people order and they cancel that’s how I just got this car within 2 months only .I consider myself so lucky 😇
Is all SE model AWD? Mine doesn’t have the emblem.
Most corollas are front wheel drive. if it does not have the emblem on the sides of the car, it is most likely fwd.
Why the American versions doesn’t has the same clusters?
I know. I’m wondering if I can swap mine.
@@artmac9181yes you can just buy the Canadian version.
Nice vehicle, but GOOD LUCK getting one, waitlist is insane ... Toyota is scamming Canada.
I'm not a fan of the "gaping mouth of a dead salmon" front fascia that Toyotas and other cars have. Looks like crap.
Just turn your head when you approach all cars that have the bad front end.
