I weave in as i go now bc this method had my knots unraveling and making the tedious knotting that i did all for nothing. Bc you cant repeat that step once you trim it. I tried to do it without trimming those ends from the knots but it ended up being just like weaving the ends plus a knot???
It could just be fun for her to do, plus everyone has their own method of doing things based on who they learned it from or whether it was self taught. Do what makes you comfortable
This knot is actually very strong. I never had one come off in my life, even if i cut the tail ends very close to it It doesnt look like it but its very, very strong
I've been knitting and crocheting for a year now and that isn't much, but this type of knot really does wonders so I do suggest it if you wanna try it 👍
This is a manufacturing knot I’ve never ever had one come undone in the wash but usually I will tie them earlier in the yarn so I can get a really tight pull on either end before snipping the extra
Kudos to her for being able to judge just where to cut and join the two yarns. However, I’ll still weave in my ends. It’s a tired and true method, and it definitely beats just crocheting over tails.
@@StaraestheticandotherSame! Are we doing something wrong? Or is the yarn we are using not it for this method?? I just weave in as i go/aka stitch over the ends.
It's called "the magic knot" and it's awesome or lookup square knot it too is great. I included a link for the 1st one: czcams.com/video/zihJS9LhyA0/video.htmlsi=UUU7nGG5lgzdGP7j
@@elenatruj if the yarn is too silky it won’t work, it needs to have enough texture for the knot to be secure. It works best with acrylic yarn or some form of wool.
It's always good to know lots of different ways to change color or add new yarn. I would only use this method if my yarn broke. I try to avoid knots & I don't mind weaving in my ends. I think it's relaxing.
I really have just started doing the weaving in or tucking tails. It is such a better way to do it and if you get your tails long enough they will never find their way out
I have found if you chang your color before you stsr your next row before you chain one and you can actually pull the loop down unto the stitch and you never see the color change. It is how i figured out how to do color changes and i start by weaving in the tail.
Wow I thought I was the only one to think of this but yeah I don't like sewing in alot of ends so this is what I decided to do also and it actually looks good I love it I will never go back to the old way again.
I've known the magic join for years but I always thought I kind of wasn't allowed to use it in crochet, like my project would fall apart or something. I will never weave in color change ends again
The last white stitch ended up with grey in it! 🥴 I know lots of people use knots to join and just snip the ends off, but I would never trust them myself.😊 I think it's interesting to know different ways to do things though.😊
Well now I want to rip out the rows in my blanket and start over as if that would some how be easier 🤣 maybe I’ll just weave in my ends tonight and do this moving forward. So smart!
I think id do this if the colorswtich was on the last row, I typically crochet in the tails as I work if I can. That way there wouldnt be as many knots on the side and personally weaving feels a little more secure than knotting.
Russian joints are great, the only problem is that they don't work with every yarn. My amigurumi cotton yarn simply refuses to work with russian joints, it's untwists itself and comes apart. ಥ‿ಥ It gets worse with thinner yarn too, and don't even think about it with velvet and chenille yarn. It works great with acrylic or thick yarn, though. Keeps it super secure and hides it wonderfully. I usually just do a normal knot with long ends that'll weave in for extra security. That way the knots aren't coming undone (which most fancy knots like the one above do for me, and leaving loose ends to weave in later is even worse. My tension is tight so I almost always pull them undone by accident while crocheting) and by weaving the tails in I can pull the knot close to the stitches and hide it. Unless it's plushies, in that case the knot will stay on the inside so it doesn't matter too much. Just need to secure it well so it doesn't come undone.
I personally hate the texture of those knots and find that if you cut them too short they WILL unravel, but if you leave them long they look ugly. So I'd rather just weave in ends.
I have tied this not and pulled on it very hard multiple times to see if it untied, but the yarn broke before the knot every time. I doubt a wash will pull it apart
I just crochet the tails into the next row. Less work and more secure
If it’s the same colour, I do too
@@neenaj365 it works with different colours too as it's the same as when you're carrying yarn through when working in multiple colours ☺️
thats easily pulled out
@mollyoxy it's a magic knot, very secure
@@gilwalker3399 im replying to the person who saud they just crochet tails into the next row... no knot. That's easily pulled out...
So much easier and quicker to weave in as you go and you don’t have a ton of knots
You obviously don’t understand how much I loathe weaving in ends

@@shepard6895 Doing this knot method is way more effort than stitching over the ends. A.k.a. weaving in your ends as you go.
exactly
It could just be fun for her to do, plus everyone has their own method of doing things based on who they learned it from or whether it was self taught. Do what makes you comfortable
I would never trust that to hold and I really hate the feel of knots.

SAME!! Saying from experience, this opinion is totally valid as they do unravel
@@lucass1717 Mine have never. You have to pull them super tight. Some of y'all are probably doing a very loose pull. I pull mine extremely right.
you can just weave them in as you go by holding the old tail with the new stitches. its faster than the other two methods :)
This is a manufacturing knot I’ve never ever had one come undone in the wash but usually I will tie them earlier in the yarn so I can get a really tight pull on either end before snipping the extra
honestly i'm not brave enough hahahha
Same, I usually only use this knot when I'm using the same colour yarn however
I used to do this but I stopped cause my works have hard bumbs and sometimes it just untangle. Guess it works differently to everyone
I had the same experience with them
Kudos to her for being able to judge just where to cut and join the two yarns.
However, I’ll still weave in my ends. It’s a tired and true method, and it definitely beats just crocheting over tails.
I use the same trick too but then I have knots in my project and it doesn't look nice. Anyway this knot actually works and it doesn't come undone.

That is how I do my knots but this hack to place the knot is absolute perfection. Thank you.
Omg what kinda sorcery did I just watch?! Amazingggggg!

I do this all the time and it 100% holds for me, but it’s very noticeable in thicker yarn.
I remember learning this in home economics when I was like 12 or 13. I did it so perfectly, I felt like a surgeon 😅😅😅
Seeing that everyone crochets differently and each person has their own unique style is so fascinating. Crocheting is such a personal art.

I always just crochet the tails in as I go! This is awesome too
糸の種類によってはこの繋げ方めっちゃいい!
Literally my only issue is you ending up making the white wayyy too short somehow 😭
U should pull it suuupertight using that knot, plus its not so secure bc it could break later. Better use another ones!

Whats the pattern?
I'm a newbie, but this looks simple but pretty!

I have done this for a crochet sweater, and put it through washing machine a lot of times and no knots came undone

I do a russian join. Best method in my opinion.

If y’all don’t like the knot what you can do is a Russian join it’s real simple and it’s seamless too
I love this!
That’s def coming loose lmao
hope that knot holds
I get way too nervous cutting that close with this knot cuz I can always pull it out
Nice😮👍🏻
Thanks ❤
I wouldn’t want to do a change color knot in every row though.
I mean yeah, I think we all know that if we tie a knot we don't have to weave in the ends, but many of us don't like knots in our projects
Я тоже так соединяю👍🏻
I have a different technique for joining two yarns. Hahhaha
Just weave in you ends while crocheting the next row. By the end of it it’s less work
Im so bad at changing colors this is great!
これいいやんと思ったけど、見た目悪くなったり解けたりするのね……糸処理ってほんとにめんどくさいw
Weave in the ends as knots give out when washing and then what?
i chrochet and i’m gonna say that there’s a much easier way to do this
Tried this with a blanket, it came falling apart...
Until a knot comes undone and your f***ed.
.... theres 400 ways to do what ypu just did in SO MANY easier ways 😅
Doing all that you could've already had it weaved in. SMH
Спасибо
I dont weave them in i just crochet over them in next round
I mean yeah of course you can tie 2 yarns together. The entire point of weaving ends is to avoid knots. Wtf.
Surely this just takes longer than weaving in though?
I tried it, it does not look good, the knots look and feel weird. Personally it's a no, it's way better to weave in as you go
I thought knotting was the bad way? Weaving is more secure and mo visible knots??
😢 thats a NO for me! 😢
That seems like more time consuming work than weaving in
So Easy
Or.. you could just crochet the tails into the thing itself.
Was that a half treble stitch
what kind of stitch is this ?
Wow..
What kind of yarn are you using?
This yarn is Lion Brand Feels Like Butta. It's incredibly soft!
What sorcery is this

this will take ages to finish
Too much work I'm lazy😔😌😭😝
What was the point
You could just carry the yarn up the side instead of cutting each row off, seems like a waste of time and very unnecessary
That's just a huge waist of time lol
😮😮😮😮👍👍👍👍
There is a faster and simpler was to do tht
Why would you want knots throughout your piece!? Just doesn’t make sense. 🙄
So confused

it actually won’t! this is a very strong knot that’s really hard to get undone even on purpose. the ends stay put

THANK YOU, weaving was always a I'm not crocheting this NOW I CAN, THANK YOU, BEAUTIFUL ❤️
Ah?
