A variety of interesting products were offered by NYC's street merchants in 1988, but Albert didn't find anything that he wanted. Video by Nelson Sullivan
There's a lot to unpack. I was born and raised in Alphabet City (still live here) and was a senior in high school in 1988. These videos are a time capsule to me and bittersweet because the city seems to familiar and so foreign at the same time. I'm 50 now and those days are long gone. Good times though. If you needed a rusty antenna for your TV, St. Mark's Place was your spot!
I Love Love Love The Cars from the 80' s.....I had a 1977 Monte Carlo....back then. I worked in the City in 1989..... It was a Great time in NYC...... Gritty, Dirty, Edgy..... Loved shopping on 23rd Street.... And by The Port Authority...... This Video takes me back there to the New York I Love......!!😊
Nelson was a cousin of mine that I never got to meet he died before I got to meet him and I was too young anyways. But watching his home videos all my life really made me fall in love with him and I've never met him we are related and people always get so mad at me every time I say that but it's true I'm not saying I'm related for clout. My mother is a Sullivan how many and we share relatives down in California as well well we did anyways a lot of them passed away
The ShawShank Preneur Yeah thank you :)...I did read that in one of his videos...would love to see Dick Richards now. I think he is the one from McDonald’s video?
MilesAndHeights it's the same Dick from the videos. He is the one who is digitizing (expensive to do) and is uploading these videos. He owns the youtube channel. Did you know that Nelson Sulivan after death is worth 11 million dollars?
The ShawShank Preneur that's now. Even after he died. I have no idea. I found it online. IMDB has him listed as a director who made 2 movies. He also knew all these people who themselves are worth millions. Rupaul is worth 7 million, Michael Mustos net worth is 1.5 million, Lady Bunny is worth 400,000 and Michael Alig is worth 30,000 (he was charged with first degree manslaughter after he shot someone over an unpaid drug debt,he served 17 years in prison). Even back in the day they were very successful. Nelson mentions a few times that some of his friends have to borrow money and he was able to pay for film which was very expensive at the time. He also went on a lot of trips down south to Georgia which is something that would have taken at least 2 days. Sorry lol. I'm rambling. You should read some interviews with Dick Richards about Nelson. He explains everything.
Michael I believe that it could be worth this much...like this is treasure, a true time travel...the pple bk then are still arnd, I mean most of them and much older but when u watch the videos it feels like ur in that era..I just hope Nelson was arnd to see his success...bk then he must hv been that annoying person with camera making ‘home’ videos...I really hope Dick makes a video talking abt Nelson and how were things after his death
i have a LG G6 it costs 700 dollars and i dont touch it while im walking or out of my house. I only touch it if i recieve a call or i have to use google maps to find a place.
Exactly! The person who typed that couldn't be from NY with that statement lol. That was when the crack epidemic and drugs in general was at an all time high in NYC lol
Albert and Michael must said nasty things when Nelson died like he's only famous because he had a video camera never would of been without a camera so nasty those two guys no one is truly your friend and not who talk crap behide your back it's evil backstab your friends. Nelson's the winner not Albert or mike
Albert Crudo is a mood. 😂😂
Yeah, a bitchy one.
0:56 "Does that fucking asshole have on a pair of glasses on just like mine" MY FAVORITE PART
These are the videos of Nelsons that I enjoy the most, just every day scenes from every day life.
Anyone else just really fascinated by the things in 1988 like to think back 32 years ago

What a genius Nelson was to record such beautiful videos to make nostalgic people feel they came back in time

I had an 83 Monte. It ran for over 100K miles
Albert seemed a little more "crabby diva" that day! Not that it matters I still love all of em!
Hey everyone! Ray's Pizza is still standing strong at (2 St Marks place, in the east village)
Very interesting im gonna go there
Wayyy cooool
It's not Ray's - It's called Stromboli Pizza. There's a famous photo of The Beastie Boys in front of it.
@@done1675 in this video it’s Ray’s on 2 st marks place, Stromboli pizza is further down on 83 st Marks place. Ray’s is situated on the corner.
before the apple stores, whole foods, john varvatos, and sex and the city. a much, much more free spirited time for new york.
I love looking at the cars
The only thing more fabulous than Albert's glasses is that manbag shaped like a glove 😂😍
I cant beleive these were actually recorded in the 80s
So fucking cool seeing old school streets

The Village. That restaurant with the windows is a Starbucks at Astor Place. And those cars! I saw a Mustang and a Camaro
Any idea who is uploading these videos? Would be good to see these guys at present. Ofcourse except Nelson. RIP Nelson. You left us with gold.

The ShawShank Preneur died what u mean
@@beedslolkuntus2070: As in his life ended.
July 4, 1989. His last video hours before he died is on here.
ugh way too short lol
I think Albert is part crab. He's so moody all the time.
Lmao yup
Not one mother on a phone 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
No shit. How old are you? 12?
He’s so cute. God bless us girls who didn’t know our pretty high school boyfriends were gay 🌸
Utterly beautiful.
1:05 now that is a dirty mudflap.
Jeremy Clarkson at 1:39?!
Oldskool4lyfe nah Jeremy had a Afro back then
Jeremy didn’t look anything like that in the ‘80s. That’s probably what he’ll look like in 10 years
Some say...
Why do I get this recommendations? YT, what are you guys up to ha?
People walk so much differently and normal back then now people are looking down on their cellphones now and that causes hunchbacks 🤦♂️
your whole channel is video games chill out
N Weaver I’m taking about phones not video games 🤦♂️
N Weaver and why would u go through my channel?
East Village?
Of course
Holly smokes, a Zephyr tag spotted randomly in the wild at 2:01.
Who is uploading these video's
I think Dick Richards (Nelson Sullivan friend)but he is died (September or October 2018)
Does anyone know what became of Albert Crudo?
here's a video from 6 years ago czcams.com/video/vnLpwJaAky8/video.html

He fell back into the ocean to be back with his crab family. Lol!
No way this is from the 80s
That gay hand🫳 and the trans picture

Gay and trans people have always existed
So hipster haha
Is that soho
The Village
Is Albert a Sagittarius 😅❤
Im better off with a video no more than 7 mind. Enjoyable Walk.
Albert on the blob....
Before there were crack dealers on every corner
ERIKA DOWDY correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t this when there WERE crack dealers on every corner in NYC?
This was in the midst of the crack epidemic.
Today it's most likely heroin dealers.
Exactly! The person who typed that couldn't be from NY with that statement lol. That was when the crack epidemic and drugs in general was at an all time high in NYC lol
Where you at Nelson? I need love only you can give.
NYC looked really trashy in the 80s...
Blue Bird It *was* trashy. And filled with art. And opportunity was everywhere. It was wonderful.
The rampant crime and looming danger wasn't wonderful.
It was a murdeous, near bankrupt flthy sewer. It literally stunk like a fucking sewer all around the city back then.
Albert and Michael must said nasty things when Nelson died like he's only famous because he had a video camera never would of been without a camera so nasty those two guys no one is truly your friend and not who talk crap behide your back it's evil backstab your friends. Nelson's the winner not Albert or mike
He’s a cry baby
Ny was like homosexual Mecca..is it still like that ?
