this is an ACTUALLY good speedrun compared to the previous one. the previous one was neutral route and this is true pacifist, yet this was still way faster than the neutral route speedrun i did.
bro is finished his run for 2 hours meanwhile i still stuck at the Undyne chase....
This was a pretty clean run all things considered
In ruins, beyond just cleaning up basic movement to save ~20 seconds, if you get hit by the hand in the Toriel fight, it immediately ends the turn and saves about ~5 seconds every time you get it
In Snowdin, you can grab the tough glove from the box, equip it, and then use the stick to instantly spare all dog enemies, including endogeny in true lab, and aside from that, maybe another 30-40 seconds to save by not messing up the ice puzzle
I cannot ever recommend equipping any armor in a TPE speedrun until the Asgore fight, that’s because the bandage ensues a 100% flee rate, making it very easy to ignore all random encounters, and you can’t flee in true lab anyway, so equipping armor there is fine, I like the attempt at skipping the first undyne cutscene, but I’d recommend not bothering, as you need to hit three inputs (open menu-> CELL-> call Toriel) and there are exactly three frames where the menu is open before the cutscene starts, making it extremely difficult, once again, I respect the attempt at skipping the onionsan cutscene, but it saves so little time, that unless you know the set up for it, it’s not really worth it, and you might as well just lose the 30 seconds, otherwise you’re going to waste more then that trying to skip it and overall lose time, a tip to never get lost during the second undyne section, there is always a bridge beneath the correct path for undyne, so if you ever deviate from it, you know you’re going the wrong way
almost hit the bridge punchcard, pretty unfortunate to miss that, but you can definitely hit it in future, you need to stop reloading the game so aggressively, if you miss it, you’re only losing ~10 seconds or so, you’re spending more time resetting then the trick actually saves, and again with punchcarding after the undyne fight, you’re wasting more time trying to skip the cutscene then the cutscene takes
You hit news skip, which is pretty good, but then you just, hung around for a bit, and I’m not sure why, definitely time to save, a mistake when getting to the elevator, skipping a mettaton cutscene for some reason gets rid of you’re inventory, you need to go to L1 and go to the bridge room, and cross the bridge to the room before undyne collapses, this is the last room of waterfall and will give you your menu back, okay, nevermind, you realize your mistake, but still time to save in future, you also don’t need to reset if you miss the first trigger, there are five you can try to hit to skip muffet, and they’re all approximately marked by the spiders hanging from the ceiling
there’s a puzzle you can solve in core that’s faster then going through warriors path, you don’t need to sit through the long elevator cutscene, you can just enter the elevator and then exit and you’ll be in new home
If you’re having a hard time on the Asgore fight, the money from sparing the dogs is enough to get two cinnamon bunnies and the nice cream, you can also delay the use of the pie, and use it as a healing item, because it doesn’t matter if it saves 20 seconds in the Asgore fight if you die and lose multiple minutes
You can’t die during the soul sections in omega flowey, so hit the ACT button ASAP, and you can kill flowey and it’s much faster
Same thing here actually, you can just enter and exit the elevator
If you make sure you have an empty slot after the undyne date she will immediately give you the letter, and you don’t need to go to Snowdin for it

@defacube put the music on max volume. I'm not joking, I had my audio off, but when I put it on I had an adrenaline rush and beat it 10 minutes later 💀💀 (couldn't get past sans but I'll try it later)

do you still plan to speedrun undertale? I've been wanting to get into TPE glitchless but I keep messing up and dying to mad dummy and then i just reset. I use to run genocide but I don't like the rng it brings. congrats on the run btw
Nah don't worry, after this I tried neutral but died like 4 times to mad dummy
