    I wanted to include these in the original video, but didn't have time to make all 10. I will update this as I find time!

    Quality video! I’ve been exploring the format recently and have built one deck thus far, I think you’ve just tempted me to build a few more 😅
    Vizkopa seems busted, soulherder in the command zone is a sentence I never knew how much I wanted to hear, and Khenra is actually terrifying!!
    Thanks for the video!

      If you end up building any of these commanders shoot me the decklists! I’d love to see them!

    For Tempest Hart, you can also use green spells with X in the cost. (maybe Thrive for more counters) definitely Nyxborn Hydra since you could use it as a buff to give TH +3/+3 while also giving TH a +1/+1 counter. This way you could still utilize the spells before getting your commander out or if you are low on mana.

      Very true! Didn’t even think about that initially. No idea how many simic x spells there are in common but must be quite a few!

    my favorite pauper deck is Oji the Exquisite Blade. every second spell each turn flickers a creature of mine so just abuse etb's. i can lock my friend out with Stonehorn Dignitary or go infinite w archaeomancer and drake. i'm often able to protect my important creatures on any turn as long as i have 2 spells to play. arcane denial + return for inspection means you waste your removal spell, i bounce your biggest creature and flicker spirited companion to draw and now you're worse off than when you started

    Hey, huge fan of your video. I was really excited when you showed off the Ninja list, I already have one that I play semi-regularly, but your list is really sweet so I ended up swapping some stuff out. I'd love it if you got around to showing that Third Path Iconoclast decklist, I've been meaning to build an Izzet Spellslinger deck, and combining it with affinity sounds really awesome!

    Our playgroup considered building some PEDH decks, but the lack of good removal and boardwipes maked us stop. Gameplay seemed veeeery solitary and one-sided when building, so we just build regular Pauper instead.

    • @BRBMTG
      @BRBMTG  Před 11 měsíci +5

      I find it’s not as bad as you might think actually! A low number of boardwipes can be a problem, but there is plenty of removal :)

    • @Paul-Scarecrow1779
      @Paul-Scarecrow1779 Před 11 měsíci

      What are the negative things you're actually seeing in gameplay because of the weaker board wipes?
      My experience is that the reduced board wipe power actually has a lot of positives, like making aggro more viable, reducing how often people have their stuff killed as collateral damage (feels bad), and shortens game time because you don't reset board states as much.

    • @mofomiko
      @mofomiko Před 11 měsíci

      @@Paul-Scarecrow1779 I wanted to build an elf deck, and not being able to properly stop a huge aggressive board just seemed to one sided, overwhelming and samey to play over and over again.
      I like my interaction, and we in our playgroup actually started to play more removal, so we get more grindy games

    • @Paul-Scarecrow1779
      @Paul-Scarecrow1779 Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@mofomiko Elves tend to be really fragile and will definitely have issues with spells like Fiery Cannonade, Breath Weapon, Bloodfire Infusion, Sulfurous Blast, Pestilence, Crypt Rats, Arms of Hadar, Evincar's Justice, and Fade Away. I specifically mention Fade Away and Arms of Hadar because they can be harder to defend against, getting around the green and white commons that protect against board wipes, like Rootborn Defenses, Prismatic Strands, Blinding Fog, and Wrap in Vigor.
      To me, board states building up is actually LESS solitaire-y, though because you have to constantly be re-evaluating who the threat is and figuring ways around defenses and doing math and guesswork to figure out if you can outrace somebody. Many PDH decks run MORE interaction than EDH decks because they can't rely on "destroy all" board wipes as a cure-all for anything that scares them. So they have to run lots of spot removal and think long and hard what is actually worth using that spell on. PDH is incredibly interactive.

      @@Paul-Scarecrow1779 nice evaluation, but I think our playgroup will get into Pauper first. That way we have a cheap, fun way to play 1v1
