Question for your next Q&A: if you have your a9 and a7r4 on these trips near your home, which lens is on which camera and how do you decide which camera/lens setup is best for birds in flight or portraits?
No! National geographic is too boring beyond compared to your narrative story a long this video. Love how you deliver both pics / video and story. Really enjoy it.

Mark, you are the finest and best 'salesman' for a trip to Florida. If not for your images and videos, I'd only know it for Carl Hiaasen novels, my in-laws boring stories about bugs, and Walt Disney World (no thanks to the latter two!). I have an a9 and the 200-600G and literally, your back yard is pretty much the best thing for me to do with them.

Mark, I have to say your channel is one of my favorites right now! I shoot on canon (r5, r6, r7) with the 100-500mm but I am wanting to get some Sony gear now lol I am definitely doing a workshop as soon as I graduate from my masters program next summer and have the time. I visit Florida to see family so it would be a cool experience.

Thank you for taking us on yet another fabulous adventure! My favorite image was of the Black-necked Stilt interaction at 11:48. The shadow of the bill really makes that image special, in my opinion!

Great video Mark and a fantastic location is it mainly down to habitat why these Snail Kites are struggling.

In 1928 Henry Beston wrote, "creation is here and now". With respect to John Ortmann (below), for the Kites to evolve differently-shaped beaks and talons within a few generations is just about unprecedented in nature. We are seeing evolution happening within our lifetimes.
And Mark Smith is back with a beautiful story to tell with awesome images as usual. I love the stilt fighting scenes... thank you for the awesome video 🙏

Amazing work and thanks for picking up the turtle. I live a bit south of you and when I go out to the Glades or other places in the daytime, there is no Wildlife around in this heat. I guess from your video the key is to do it very early when the sun is coming up and the heat does bearable for the birds.
