    I dont like the BLUE AR. I think if you are to get one, getting the plain would be better looking, and also, 2.7mm is too thin, If I were to do this again, I would look for a 3.0 mm thick one to match OEM. thanks.

      Agreed. Nice work on the install and explanation 🔥

      I just found a 3.0mm one and bought it. Why do you think this will matter? The 2.7mm ones are everywhere and cheaper...

    Have you found that the watch is still water-proof after changing the crystal? Also, if you don't mind me asking, why do you think the 2.7mm thickness is too thin? I understand that the original mineral crystal is 3mm thick. Does the new slightly thinner sapphire look wrong against the bezel insert compared to the original mineral crystal? I'm planning to swap to sapphire on my son's Duro and I wanted to thank you for the video. It was very informative.

      yes still WR. the bezel insert was higher than the crystal after the change. I had to flatten the bezel insert so it is level with the crystal. thank goodness it wasnt ceramic

      @@watchhobbywithdannythemedic Thanks for the help! My son and I modded his Duro over the weekend and we're very happy with the way it turned out. We had some trouble releasing the crown and stem, but after a little while, we finally figured it out. The sapphire crystal really worked out nicely.

      sure thing! if he is wearing it with the rubber duro strap, I like to heat up straps in boiling water to have the end not stick out.. one day I will make a video..

    Yep.That just all but completely blew the waterproof rating. Without replacing the gaskets and having a meter for retightening the case back, I would barely trust it in the shower

    Do you have any tips for my Casio Duro where the bezel now rotates in two directions and doesn’t click at all. ?

    • @watchhobbywithdannythemedic
      @watchhobbywithdannythemedic  Před 11 měsíci +2

      sounds like the click spring in the bezel broke, replacing that costs money and time, a new duro is sooooo cheap... buy a new duro!

      @@watchhobbywithdannythemedic thanks for the reply!! I figured that was probably it! My old duro will just have a bidirectional bezel now 🤷🏾‍♂️ kinda cool lol

    I want to file the bezel like you did, can you tell me what size triangle file you used?

    • @watchhobbywithdannythemedic
      @watchhobbywithdannythemedic  Před rokem

      I just used a very small one, the exact size dont matter since it is the edge I used that dont change with little size differences

    how thick is the original crystal?

    • @watchhobbywithdannythemedic
      @watchhobbywithdannythemedic  Před 2 lety +1

    Wrong glass. Not thick enough. You didn’t silicone the gasket. Also when you replace the crystal you should replace the crystal gasket if you want to retain the WR.

    • @watchhobbywithdannythemedic
      @watchhobbywithdannythemedic  Před rokem

      sad isnt it? they sell these marked as for the duro.... the back gasket right? I didnt bother because its a cheap watch, and sure, best practice to change crystal gasket each time... (like if it was a customer's watch) but watch is perfectly fine.

    • @baddasz8
      @baddasz8 Před rokem +1

      This watch doesn’t use a crystal gasket. Not all watches use one. But from the cavalier nature of how you did this mod from start to finish was an exercise in pure suspense and pins and needles uncomfortableness!!! Hahaha

    I know the tool you used works for what you did but it sounds like all that glass scraping is hurting the glass and/or the watch. I've seen a slightly different tool used on Wristwatch Revival that gently bows the glass and the watch just falls out and slides back into place without scraping. Check it out. 😬

    • @watchhobbywithdannythemedic
      @watchhobbywithdannythemedic  Před 2 lety +2

      that would be for acrylic crystals... bowing sapphire will shatter it
