    This is an SEL, not an SEL Plus. The Plus has turn signal indicators in the side mirrors, and the interior is leather, a power passenger seat, and 8 inch infotainment with Nav and affinity audio and dual zone automatic climate control. The most obvious item is the Plus has push button start and the HomeLink rear view mirror. So this is an SEL, not a Plus-- at least in the US.

    I used to have a Santa Fe Sport with the same key fob and same little button. The button doesn't actually open the liftgate. It just unlocks the liftgate. You hold it down and it unlocks the liftgate, and then once you close it it relocks, never having unlocked the other doors. It was a pet peeve of mine when I owned that car.

      You're kidding me!?! What a useless option. Thanks for letting me know. I feel a little bit better now. I had thought either my rental was broken or there was some trick to it.

    Great video. Very detailed! One thing I wanted to point out is that this is just the SEL. The SEL plus has leather as well as some other features and pushes it to $29k +.

      Cheryl, since you now own one, can you say that the small engine has enough power for everyday use?

    My mom has a 2016 limited, and it is turbocharged with 185 horsepower. It’s a great car.

    I just picked up this same car for my weekly rental. I really like the selectable AWD and the way that the radio volume lowers when you are in reverse. May be something that you can turn off, but I like it. Also, I had the same issue with the rear hatch.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  Před 6 lety +1

      Hey Robo! You couldn't open the hatch either? Hmmm, that makes me think there's some trick to it. Maybe you have to hold that button a really long time? I'll play around with it a bit more next time. And yeah, I like the radio being lowered during reverse to. It's a nice touch. Thank for watching my video! Cheers.

      100 Rental Cars Yeah the hatch button only works on higher trims. It’s the same with the Santa Fe.

    The hatch does not open by pushing the button, just unlocks it, you gotta push a button and lift it.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  Před 5 lety

      Ahhhhh, thanks! And I gotta admit, that's a bit disappointing. Being able to open the hatch with the push of a button is a huge convenience (at least in my opinion).

    I drove a 2nd-gen Tucson back a few years ago and was impressed, but it was too light for my tastes, being based on the Elantra. It's a really nice vehicle, though. :)

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  Před 6 lety

      "It was too light". That's a really good way to describe this one. It's not really a negative, more of a preference kinda of thing. I wish I had thought of that during the review...oh well. Anyway, thanks for the kind words Vincent! It's always great to hear your thoughts.

    Hi! Viewer here from the Philippines. What you have said about this car is spot on especially that my father has this one as a company car (i also use this too). But the specs are way way way waterdowned (ordinary radio, keyless entry is aftermarket and dealer installed not oem, drivers only side airbag, lots of blank switches, black interio). The Tucson is fine especially whenever i have the chance to play manual mode but with the worst traffic Manila has to offer this gulps gas fast (this is a gasoline model we have, Philippine models gets a diesel option but father got a gas automatic). Also another notice that it may have a hard time accelerating especially that I tried going on an uphill road with four people and some stuff and it had a hard time plus I had to floor it and use manual mode but to no avail.
    While the Tucson is a nice car, the package we had isnt good but not all people complain. At least it is usef whenever it rains hehe

      To add: no cruise and no audio controls (which i find it more useful).

    For a time I was considering a Tucson or a CX5. Its a nice looking SUV although I probably would have picked the CX5. Hyundai is known for making cars with great value. My loaded Elantra limited (almost 27,000) had tons of features even wi-fi. I could park outside work and pick up computers and printers inside the offices. Thats kinda scary. I kept wi-fi off. Whoever I could "see" could possibly see me too.

    • @taylorroush4338
      @taylorroush4338 Před 6 lety

      You can't put this and the CX-5 in the same category. The CX-5 blows this thing out the water! Design and interior quality is miles ahead of this Hyundai. No hate on Hyundai, you really do get alot of "value" for your money but in the end, you get what you pay for. A reliable cheap crossover with a great warranty that doesn't hold it's value. Put a CX-5 next to an Audi Q5 and it wouldn't look out of place. This car next to an Audi, would look like a complete joke.

    Just rented one of these, I find the ECO setting incredibly slow and lethargic, like if it has a CVT it's much slower than my weaker, smaller Yaris. I need to keep in in sport for around town driving.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  Před 5 lety

      I agree, Eco mode really limits your acceleration. I was a bit annoyed with that too, but I had no idea it was slower than a Yaris!!! Crazy. I've actually wanted to review a Yaris for a while now, but I haven't gotten a chance. What's it like?

      @@100RentalCars It's basic transportation at its basic base. LOL Great on gas, easy to park, very reliable and simplistic and it can get out of its own way and I fit inside quite well. For a long trip, maybe it's best to rent one of these.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  Před 5 lety

      I'm a big fan of "basic transportation". I'm in Korea right now and the parking here is crazy. I have never seen so many tiny parking lots in my life. It's an adventure every time I have to park my rental. I soooo wish I had a small Yaris or a Smartcar right now. But instead, I have a fancy Samsung QM6 (a big SUV) which has not been easy to park.
