OFF GRID In Troon Then Onward To Callander To Get Lade…

- #ayrshire #perthshire #scotland Moving on from Portpatrick we head to Troon along the coast, the Troon stopover was supposed to be a quick overnight but because of the rain we didn’t stop anywhere on route so arrived early, after parking up on the aire we had a look around the town and the next day moved on to the beautiful town of Callander for our overnight stop at the Lade Inn where we had a meal and a look around the shop on site.

We film the places we visit as our own diary, these videos are meant as a little memento for us but we're happy to share them with you if you want to watch.
We're just an ordinary couple in our 50's filming our adventures with basic equipment so don't expect loads of flash camera action and super editing with great music.
We also film videos of work we have done on our van as well as van reviews for our reference of the next van we might buy. Occasionally there are hints & tips videos too. We do basic site and area reviews including if they’re dog friendly but they’re a guide only based on our opinions which may or may not help you make an informed decision on if you’d like the place.
We do a mix of off grid camping, pub stopovers plus real campsites too, hopefully something for everyone to enjoy!

I’m sure I’ve seen you already tonight on our channel, it’s like a double dose haha - can’t believe the Asda truck parked there! Haha Good to see the sun come out - Nice to just potter along and have a look about places you wouldn’t normally stop at. Magic of the vans. Just the one 🦢 Surprising how many railways there were in times gone by - nice they remain as walks etc. Pub looked good! Nice to see plenty of places allowing stopovers too.

Yep, I'd always prefer a manual given the choice, enjoying the Scottish tour though 👍
Manual is preferable in a few situations but on the whole the auto is a very relaxed drive, glad you like the tour 🏴

Know that car park as we got married in Ayrshire at nearby alloway home of Robert burns Troon is a nice town and lots of little shops to look around if you drive past south beach to the docks there is an excellent chippy called the wee hurrie! Not surprised you needed interpreter now try with our accent was certainly a challenge to book our wedding!
Love calendar and loch Katrine both are gorgeous and aberfoyle as well is the tartan shop still in Callander? A good distillery nearby too glengoyne!

Nice one - shame about the weather at Portpatrick but Troon is a good stop. We went across to Dunoon on the ferry from Gourock last month.
Lovely drive and a great stop at the Lade Inn. A brewery at the pub what’s not to like. 😃. Good shop there

No matter how "boring" you say your video might be, you will always be more interesting than Coronation Street. That pub stop looked good - do you have to have a meal or can you just have drinks to stay over?
I’m not 100% sure we didn’t ask as we always plan to eat at a pub. Boring I suppose because we didn’t do much… thanks for the lovely comment tho ❤️
@@RickandHeather I only ask about the food 'cos gluten free options aren't always available. Anyway, I prefer good, honest "we didn't do much" to made-up drama that some channels do.
