- Shortly before Molly's birthday, she receives the good news about Alan's acquittal. Following the court martial, Conrad demands a different pilot but Alan insists he wants to carry on flying with the same observer, admiring Conrad's bravery. Conrad is unrepentant and, despite being ordered not to look for trouble, orders Alan to fly slightly off-course in the hope of engaging the German monoplane.

"Wings" has been great from the offset and just gets more Interesting with each episode. Thanks for posting this I will continue to watch and enjoy👏
Brilliant series I discovered by accident. Demonstrates how a great story can carry the drama. Modern day movies and TV can take a leaf out of that book. Thanks for the upload.
Luey
Thanks indeed for uploading this series!
excellent period story i used to watch years back great to watch again hopefully I can find the next episodes the sets are realistic too
Such a great series.
Thank you for posting this great series I only heard about for many years. It's my first time viewing the series. Great writing and story telling from The Great War. The last time my local PBS tv station featured a classic BBC tv show was All Creatures Great & Small in 2009.
Their use of RC models in this series was far more believable and realistic than the CGI planes in the recent WWWI aviation movie Flyboys.
Great drama excellent acting and time travel sets truly brilliant thanks I almost mist it
Thanks for the upload. Really enjoyed it.
thanks for posting.
Really enjoyed watching this series. Thanks for posting it.
20:20 ~ Did you see tha'?
She suddenly blushes for sum reason.
Cue - blush! ACTION! How sweet, riding down the street. 🙂🙃🙂
Thanks for my daily Wings fix
Top stuff luey, I missed this first time round. Classic retro TV!..
The Lieutenant Conrad character was a more complex character than I thought at first:
-he was the most competent observer and the best shot in the squadron;
-he was awarded the Victoria Cross, most times awarded posthumously or literally costing an arm and a leg;
However, in the end he turned out to be what nobody had expected:
a true madman.
Who in their sane mind would shoot their own pilot when they didn't have any piloting skills themselves? And even though the trainer version did have pilot controls in both seats, I believe that at this point in the series, only the pilot in the backseat had actual controls.
He probably was bluffing when it came to shooting Farmer. At least I'd like to think so.
Plot hole
I watched this series from start to finish in 1977/78 and it's as good now as it was 45 years ago. It was shown at the same time as Secret Army, another classic. I think Rik Mayall's Lord Flashheart was based on Cap'n Triggers.
Really liked the series
brilliant !!!
The girlfriend is a classic "Your time means nothing; my time means everything" type.
Yes, she obviously belonged with the Bertie Wooster, Peter Wimsey, Agatha Christie and Noel Coward set, following on a few years later.
@@cotswoldcuckoo775 lol yes,i immediately thought that she seemed like an Agatha Christie character.
"..... we ORDNARY chaps ... " 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Cracking stuff - many thanks again for sharing. I'm straight off to Luey1809Returns for Series 2...
Private schoolie got it
Yes I knew 'toothy' Kate was going to be a bit of a flibbertigibbet. Alan's much better off with the lovely Lorna
Who on earth writes the subtitles. According to them we should be relieved that Alan was acquitted of 'coitus'. Imagine being found guilty and shot for 'coitus in the face of the enemy'.
Haha😂, they're auto generated by CZcams.
thanks very much for uploading this. Yes, any chance of uploading the 2nd series ? That would be fantastic !
stefandebatselier I believe there was only 25 ever made so this is all of them
Tory horses
and their courses
I have rode a few
to get them over their phases. 😳🤪😁🐑🏴
It was better that the actual pilot should be in command of an aircraft (which was a matter of appointment, not rank) not-with-standing the superior rank of other crew members. In WW II Bomber Command operations, personality conflicts exacerbated by the inferior rank of the 'captain' vis-a-vis his crew was by no means remedied and sometimes led to similar problems.
very interesting serie. Will you upload season 2?. Regards
Does that mean a RAF Wing Commander (Navigator) outranks a Flight Lieutenant (Pilot) in the air with regard to any aircraft both fixed and rotary wing ?
Arriving here late ... can someone tell me what is the music at the beginning? 😁
Original theme written in the style of the period.
where is wings season 2?
if you're interested please also subscribe to Luey1809Returns where I'm currently uploading the 2nd Series of Wings

Conrad and his miserble substitution for his own lack of manhood, or his desire for other's manhoods that he doesn't own honestly inrelation to his own intimacy. Why he takes it out on Farmer, who is, as cited, an ordinary man, natural, virile from the country and blacksmithing, one of the most virile professions there is, think Thor, for instance...To anyone reading this who hasn't read DH Lawrence's Lady Chatterly's Lover, written at the same time as these stories, I would recommend a very enjoyable and clear portrait of the issues, also re: society classes in British society at the time.
I don't think Condrad is worried about his manhood, he's just a very classist and battle hardened officer.
