  • Milky Way Galaxy:
The Milky Way is the galaxy that includes our Solar System. It appears as a hazy band of light in the night sky, formed from countless stars that blend together.
    It’s a barred spiral galaxy with a diameter of about 26,800 light-years and contains 100-400 billion stars1.
Our Solar System is located about 27,000 light-years from the Galactic Center, near the inner edge of the Orion Arm.
At the center of the Milky Way lies Sagittarius A*, a supermassive black hole with a mass of 4.1 million solar masses.
    Solar System Planets:
There are eight planets in our Solar System, divided into two groups:
    Terrestrial Planets (Inner Planets):
Mercury: Closest to the Sun, it’s a small, rocky planet with extreme temperature variations.
Venus: Hottest planet due to a thick atmosphere of carbon dioxide. It spins backward compared to most planets.
Earth: Our home! The only known planet with abundant life.
Mars: The red planet, with a thin atmosphere and evidence of past water.
    Gas Giants (Outer Planets):
Jupiter: Largest planet, with a massive storm called the Great Red Spot.
Saturn: Known for its iconic ring system made of icy particles.
Uranus: Spins on its side, and its atmosphere contains methane.
Neptune: Cold and distant, with a deep blue color due to methane gas.
    Moons:
Each planet has its own moons (natural satellites):
    Mercury and Venus: No moons.
    Earth: Our Moon (Luna).
Mars: Two notable moons: Phobos and Deimos.
Jupiter: Over 80 moons, including Ganymede (largest), Io, Europa, and Callisto.
Saturn: Impressive ring system and over 80 moons, including Titan and Enceladus.
Uranus: 27 known moons, including Titania and Oberon.
Neptune: 14 known moons, including Triton.
