Except that when humans are confined to their homes, they usually start breeding! There are often baby booms after events like massive blizzards, because people have nothing else to do.
@@giabarrone7422 My mom have already marked the "observation date" for that theory on their calenders. They think it's hilarious. I mean it's not even a theory anymore, it's proven but they still think it's funny to observe who amongst the people they know got bored :P

There’s a massive garter snake that lives in the bushes in front of my house. In the summer I catch her basking on the concrete front steps. I hadn’t seen her all winter, but I saw her just yesterday in one of the bushes. I hope she had a nice sleep this winter. I love living in a rural area, it’s awesome getting to see the natural behavior of so many critters.
Post-brumation is an exciting time! My bearded dragon Eyebrows laid 25 eggs last night, my retic ate a huge rat (for her size, anyway), and my Pubba is finally starting to get rambunctious!

We breed fancies (dumbo, hooded, rex, double rex, etc.) so that some can be rehomed as pets :) But yes, to be 100% transparent we do use the majority for feeders.
@@SnakeDiscovery wow didn't know that..... I keep fancy rats as pets and I don't think I can breed rats and feed them...........after you get to know them, you know.. not judging you btw
I'm curious about Cheyenne's collar, could y'all do an update on her?
The collar is to try to stop her from plucking her feathers because in her last home she was badly treated, or that’s what I’m guessing
She plucks her feathers is like humans bite their nails
It is a stress thing and a hard habit to break

At 11:00 minutes they mention it’s a plucking collar that prevents her from plucking her feathers

Yep we woke them up too! We took a slower approach with them due to the low temperatures. They're together for pairing now, but I sadly haven't seen much breeding behavior 😭

I watched a nature documentary that showed what garter snakes do the moment they wake up from brumation - they immediately find the warmest spot they can and cluster together to warm up and then try breeding as soon as their temperature gets up (literally within a matter of minutes). It doesn't surprise me that the red sided garter snake went straight to the basking platform the moment she could.
Humans often go from "brumation" temperature to summer basking and breeding - it's called "spring break on the beach" ;-)

Hognoses are soooo adorbs! Also I love buck so much hes so beautiful and unique in my opinion.The male white sided bull is also gorgeous.. and I prefer stillwater because I really like the outline on the spots it reminds me of big cats
I got stuck in quarantine at my mom's house, away from my reptiles (they're fine, my sister is looking after them). I've been missing them so much the last week and your videos make me feel so much better

Love the light colored bull you were holding. LOVE bull and garter snakes. Also you may look into eastern Washington water snakes. Beautiful colors. Similar to western garters for size. Played with them all the time as a child. They swim on top of the lakes and ponds.
