No B.S. I was in a situation where a bayonet would have probably prevented an 8 inch scar on my leg. 300 lb (give or take) hog. I put a slug in him.(Winchester 1300 pump 12) He dropped. I wasn't actually "hunting" that day. Loading bird shot for whatever. I was checking property line after a storm. Only had 1 slug. I walked over to the down hog. Thinking it's dead. It was not. Long story short. I ended up "hand to hand" using my empty shotgun as a club. A bayonet would have been ideal.

The 590 with a bayonet looks awesome. More than the AR with the same bayonet, simply because you have this beefy shotgun that has the blade position forward. It just looks intimidating.
Also, the shotgun has such low capacity compared to a modern rifle that the bayonet might actually make more sense on this than the AR, because you're more likely to run out of ammo :P

Absolutely works! Thanks for a great tip. Only one tip for anyone else who reads this. I did this, but the width of the washer was a bit wide, to where it prevented the grip from aligning flush with the mag tube, and thereby, lug and mag. cap. Using a Dremel tool and metal cutting adapter, thinned out the washer where it was obstructing the bayonet grip. Sprayed on a few coats of matte black rustoleum, and voila, perfect fit. Bayonet fits perfect on the lug, mag. cap and grip is nice and snug against the tube. GG&G baby! (The bayonet is the Marine one)

The M-7 bayonet is a Vietnam era bayonet that came out from the M3 trench knife. The M-9 which was adopted in the mid-80s when the M-16A2 came online was first made by Phrobis under contract from Buck and there have been other companies that made the M9 like Lan-Cay but Ontario has had the contract since 2005. The OKC M9 is a great bayonet its just very hard to get a good edge on it but once you do its a good overall knife. The other bayonet currently in the US DOD inventory is the OKC-3S is the USMC currently issue bayonet which replaces the M9 and the Ka-Bar allowing Marines to carry one tool that can do the job of two.
I have all 3 of the bayonets and I personally think the OKC-3S is the better design and the bayonet that I keep in my plate carrier with my loadout. I was issued a M9 but I much rather use the 3S with either my ARs as well as my 590.

eaz54 so to be honest the only time I shot with it on was in the video I posted comparing long barrel and short barrel spread. It was off camera for a few shots and I don't have issue. It locks on pretty good. You really have to squeeze those tabs and pull it off. Maybe this bayo just has better lock up? Idk. I'll have to do a video or something on it though.

I bought the OKC3S USMC bayonet a while back because I'm notoriously hard on knives and I need a heavy duty blade for work, and fuck it, might as well get one that fits on the end of my rifle and my shotgun. I actually did the same thing you did with the O-ring. Absolutely do not put thread locker on the cap otherwise you will have to ruin it with a wrench to get it off. My only problem with these new era bayonets is the cheap rubber handle material. It doesn't take much use before the tang wears out the inside of the handle and it rattles around. Since I use it almost every day, it got pretty bad but all I did was fill the void with heavy duty epoxy and it fixed the problem. About the only time I can see a bayonet being useful on the end of a gun here in the states is either in an unlikely red dawn type scenario, or if you're out hunting feral pigs, since the shotgun's main draw back is the lack of a respectable ammo capacity, and when hunting pigs on the ground, capacity can literally mean the difference between you being dead or you filling up your freezer.

Nothing like gaining real world experience from a video game. The M9 is a horse compared to the M7. Whoever told you the M7 was superior is full of shit. Yes, the M9 looks more like a knife, that was intentional. The M7 blade doesn't lend itself well to being a very good field knife which is what a soldier would use it for a hell of a lot more than using it as a bayonet. I like the M3, M4, M5 and M5a1, the M6, and the M7, (yours is an M7B, by the way). I also like the M9. A lot. I collect guns and bayonets and spent over 20 years in the Army. I have a REAL Case manufactured ( like.. 11 different companies maNUFACTURES THESE EXACT BLADE PROFILES as everything from Infantry Bayonets to fighting knifes to you name it... ) I wish i could show you a photo of it. My friend had found it and the leather handle spacers sadly were rotted ad the blade had been sadly pitted and left to sit and rust to shit... however I cleaned it up, and instead of heating and removing the Peened on pommel, i decided to just improvise a knew handle and used a Van-secret to making an awesome custom fitted to your hand and sturdy, comfortable handle for anything out of commonly available household items...I think I am going to order one of these and put it on my Maverick88 , maybe they make a Bayonet Lug for the Maverick, if not.. ill make my own. I took machining and have a X/Y milling vice table, and am about to get a Wen 10 or 12" drill press to rebuid my drill press/ mill ourt of... Harbor Frieghts drill presses arent worth trying to make a Mill for light projects out of btw,, I tryed to use rhier 8" to do a Polymer80 lower for the first time... and I nearly had it perfect till i realized that the damn shaft and chuck are so badly machined that the sheer wobble in my milling bit had fucked it up... sucks.

Take my advise, or don't. I would advise to you young man that you stop the games for a year or two and spend some money on a highly experienced and qualified trainer to teach you how to use these tools you are buying. You can absolutely injure yourself or even die from accidentally inflicted wounds that would've been prevented with proper training and practical use experience. This isn't a video game. You can't power back up with med kits.
I realize I sound condescending with all this but it's a real concern and bad things do happen with good and innocent intentions. Please please please, get some training and learn to make the tools an extension of yourself.

M9 is garbage, heavy dull cheap steel. It will break at the wire cutting hole or at the hilt were the rat tail tang starts. Also serrations are gay.

A game made you buy one? It will come in handy when you play army. Its too heavy & has no use in the real world.

Seth Adam No, it’s perfect for home defense. Once you run empty on ammo you’re still holding a formidable weapon in your hands.

If that size difference is true, my m7 would fit perfectly since it was issued to a marine.
