      @Rad Roach more than I need, truth be told.
      Don't get me wrong I got plenty of hard drive space and I'm running an Nvidia 2060.
      Where that's not top notch it sure as hell isn't beginner bargain basement either.
      But no my biggest problem is with too many overhauls overlapping and crashing my game as I walk around the corner. It's not so much the mod count as certain mods in and of themselves

      Truth be told the major number of mods I have are in settlement building which is my hobby. That being said I do also have a think about five different mods just for my characters and NPCs eyes alone. Another four or five for hair which is frankly a little too many but some mods require one or the other so there you are.

    I still want to eventually see a gattling lazer that has an assaultron head strapped to the front that uses the assaultron continuous laser when fired.

      @@kevintan3705 You probably have a conflict with a mod. Put the mod near the bottom of your load order, underneath most mods, above your fps mod.

    Idk if its realistic, but that shotgun to anti material rifle is a really creative idea. It makes those shotgun scopes actually make sense. Lol

      It’s plausible, a .50 BMG casing is the same diameter as a 12 Gauge, and the bullet would fit through the barrel…
      Problem is that a shotgun isn’t designed to withstand the pressure generated by a .50 cal round, and would have a significant chance of *rapidly disassembling itself* in the user’s face.
      Honestly though, I could see our characters using a little “game magic” to make it work.

      @@TexasLawbringer77 Depends on how it is really built, and considering that the shotgun in the game doesn't exactly specify how it works, whether it's over designed or not, we can always allow a bit of suspension in disbelief. For example, the Combat Shotgun could have been purposefully over designed to allow that kind of swap. The small bolt could have been Annular Bolt like that of the MICOR Leader 50.

      @@TexasLawbringer77 Totally agree. Fallout 4's ascetic seems to lean that way. The lore often states that rarity of weapons are based on their durability over 200 years. Like 10mm pistols are supposedly common because they were build en masse and designed with longevity in mind.

      @@The6thMessenger am gonna stop you and say, the shotguns in game wont take a 50bmg. because the barrel walls themselves arent thick enough to withstand the pressure 50bmg creates.
      bolts can withstand most rounds of the same category unless you design the bolt really badly. the problem is that 50bmg is on a different scale. because 50bmg is not only a heavy mg round but also a light cannon round. so the bolt would need to be completely redesign with a new recoil and barrel... and now you have the AK-50 problem. where because no one has actually done it youre entering unknown areas of weapon devolopment.

    So happy to see you cover the6thmessenger’s mods. Not many people have made videos about his work. Though you are correct about incompatibilities, especially with CC weapon paints, Legendary Crafting Framework, WARS Thomson replacer, and WarDaddy’s reanimations. I personally only use the standalone versions. Love his Minigun Overhaul, the micro gun, and M60 overhaul.

    12:06 - About that you missed though, the Fatman gave me blueballs. The Bunker Buster isn't seeking though, because it's really more designed to shoot at surfaces because the smaller explosion ignores Line-Of-Sight, allowing you to hit targets behind walls. This is also the same with the Fusion-Cannon's Beam Focusers, the API ammos of 50-BMG, 30-06, 2mm EC and 5mm, and the Anti-Tank Missile. The Davy-Crockett is a rocket-powered Nuke that has seeking use, but it can also be used with the normal Fatman Shell.
    The MIRV Barrel on the other hand changes how it works, from a sub-projectile system to a standard shotgun that shoots micro-nukes, this is to avoid the feet-explosion.
    The Missile-Launcher also has a Pneumatic Launcher variant that offers 30% more splash damage and larger AOE, but it lobs missile instead. It's a homage to the Miss. Launcher in FO3.
    Anyways, other than that, much of the details aren't that important. Good job on covering it, I thought it would be 2 hours too lol.

      Hey 6th, how did you manage to make the magazine model change when swapping the Shotgun receiver? Do you have the magazine within the receiver .nif, or did you figure out something else?

    the6thmessangers overhauls really don't get enough spotlight so thank you for doing this and thank them for doing this cause it really improves and flushes out the weapons lacking in the customization department.
    I mean you can have a boomstick with a double shot trigger or turn it into a 50cal. elephant gun if you feel like hunting behemoths and mirelurke queens or and making the combat rifles basically assault rifles and making the "assault rifle" a HMG like was originally intended from the concept art just fixes so much.

    i love this overhaul, though I don't use it personally at the moment (I use a Thompson retexture because the vanilla Thompson is the annoying combination of the M1928A1 and M1A1 variant, so it means the retexture doesn't work with the overhaul). would recommend it to most people who like messing around with guns and making possibly semi cursed abominations

    I'd been looking for ways to vary up combat a bit, and adding a hundred more gun mods was getting a bit obnoxious to maintain; this looks like a more elegant solution. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

      I wonder if its compatible with the knockout framework mod. SO they might be rubber balls that knockout? im not sure cause I know the framework adds rubber bullets

      "Ball" is just another word for FMJ. Basically the standard. And seeing as it showed "ball rounds" were shown before he went into the menu for it at 4:45, I would assume it's currently equipped and there's just a glitch that shows nothing selected

    The combat/assault rifle whyyyyyyyy, there’s the bullets would have to clip through the magazine to get to that barrel, the bottom is supposed to be the gas tube like on the BAR or m1 garand, the bullets just can’t go through there.

      And now the gas-tube is at the top, and the barrel is at the bottom, like typical assault-rifles. Yeah receiver is badly made, but if you have better one, you can always use that.

    My sister had an idea for a mod of making the game have a "Power Weapon" class. Basically weapons designed to be used with power armor (Gauss Rifle, that Bulky Assault Rifle, etc.) And unarmed person could use them, but have high inaccuracy and risk breaking their arms from the kickback. Makes me wish I have better modding skills.

    I'm still waiting for a mod that changes all of the vanilla guns into actual realistically modeled guns. After playing Tarkov and Hotdogs Horshoes and Handgrenades in VR the guns in Fallout 4 are honestly hilarious looking. That assault rifle is just rough dude

    Have you ever done a video on weapon replacer mods? I never really liked the way the 10mm pistol looked, but I found a mod that replaced it with a Colt Delta 10, but I never really found any good replacers for other weapons that I wanted to change (Assault rifle and the junk guns, pretty much). So I was just wondering if you had ever looked for these kinds of mods for people who really wanted to change the aesthetics of some of the weapons.

      @@The6thMessenger I'm german. I'm 20 and never even touched a gun before so I'm not sensitive at all. My absolute favourite is what you did with the "Assault Rifle". It's design was clearly intended as an MG and you improved much on that imo. And it's Fallout anyway. Most of these guns are not even real guns anyway so design wise you can go nuts. You did an amazing job in my book.

    The problem with some of the vanilla weapons is the relatively extensive modding for the pipe weapons, and then some weapons have like, damage barrel, more damage barrel, extra more damage barrel. Grip 2, grip 2, grip 3. A sight, I guess. Legendary effect? Eeeeeeh, damage resistance during reloading (SORT OF COOL), extra energy damage (that doesn’t scale). TEN explosive damage, oh and it’s really buggy and will kill followers (and you if you don’t invest in 8 charisma and get to level 30. Fuck you)

    My only problem with this mod is how on the combat shotgun and combat rifle/assault rifle, the gas tube and barrel have been swapped, but the ejection port is still in line with the position of the vanilla barrel

    Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the barrel in the wrong place on the assault rifle? Fantastic mod regardless. Might be worth using if I ever feel like overhauling my weapons again someday. For now...kinda happy with how stable my LO is.

      wrong is an interesting word lol. the gun is fictional so it's just different now, i think the idea he was going for is that the top "barrel" is the gas tube kinda like an ak

      The vanilla Combat Rifle had it's gas tube under the barrel similar to the M14/Springfield M1A. This mod flips it around so that it's similar to an AK pattern rifle, but unfortunately it seems to still have the bolt and ejection port in their original position which would now be incorrect. Unlike New Vegas, none of the vanilla guns are "realistic". IMO that's a major reason why weapon mods for this game are so popular.

      @@JDTN1985 Well it's just really the ejector and the charging handle. There's no mesh for the bolt, so it's really up to your imagination.
      I agree that it what makes realistic weapons popular in FO4 besides tiddies, they want to turn it mil-sim. Shame that those I talk to look at it from a perspective like wearing Gucci bags, than that of an engineer.

    The author's has since marked this mod as obsolete as he has a new version, which I currently have installed. I'm still trying to figure out all the myriad mod options - it's quite overwhelming, but in a good way. It's definitely a one-and-done mod, meaning you don't need or want any other weapon mods in your load order. Thanks!

      ​@@fornodes2704 Sorry, I don't know. Probably not. I think any mods that affect weapons in any way are at risk of breaking, but you might not see any problem for hours of play since it's such an extensive set of changes, even affecting NPCs. Good luck if you try it.

    The barrel on the Combat Rifle doesn’t line up with the receiver/bolt carrier group when its’s position is swapped.

      I opened it on NIFskope, there's no bolt assembly, just the charging-handle and ejection cover. So it's free real estate.

      @@The6thMessenger OK and? Bethesda isn't going to model and animate internal components. Basic weapon geometry is what I'm talking about. So no, it's not free real estate. By your logic the weapon shouldn't fire at all then.

      @@jaybird0312 But the fact is they do shoot regardless, so your only option is to take a guess with how it works despite missing components. No, by my logic, it's left to our imagination how it works. That's like "my fantasy gun is better than your fantasy gun", it's irrelevant. You might as well criticize other modders for modding thomas the tank engine or robot-maid into the game.
      "Basic weapon geometry" my ass, engineers can build the charging handle and ejection port the way they want.

    I think the reason you reloaded really fast is I think if you had the militarized minutemen backpack. The assault variant makes it to where you reload like a cracked out sonic.

    After watching your review, I got interested and went to the mod page. Turns out, it's been discontinued and development moved to a separate page. Funny enough, the same day I checked out the second iteration, it was discontinued and a new version was uploaded. I'll give this a download whenever I make a new playthrough.

      @@MONTANI12 You can find it on the Fallout 4 Nexus. Just search for “Weapon Overhaul Systems” and you’ll find the third iteration there. As I said, the first iteration is unlisted, but the second is still available, but deprecated for the latest.

      I use the increased weapon mod distribution mod. Once you hit 25+ you start seeing some pretty bonkers weapons on enemies

    this looks awesome might want to reinstall f04 because of this, If i could just find a mod that make settlement fun to build and defend(enemies not spawning in base and settlers using defensive structures) I wouldn't really hesitate since there's a lot cool mods coming that Ive been looking for.

      Add Sim Settlements 1 or 2, Guns For Hire, NAX weather mod and you have the ultimate console version. Because both G4H and SIm Settlement 2 have nearly infinite missions that wont bore you. This has the potential to be a truly amazing experience. Imma through in the Anime Race mod to change it up on as well.

    Subsonic deals more damage? I'm no gun nut, but I thought the point of subsonic was to go slower, which means it doesn't penetrate but it also works a bit better with silencers. Unless the mod is saying that the bullet gets stuck in the person, therefore dealing more damage by rattling around in the body.

      Low velocity projectiles are more likely to tumble inside a soft target and tear up the insides, where high velocity might pass clean through.
      There are variances that come with projectile calibre, weight and profile/shape

      If anything subsonic should do more sneak damage since while its moving slower it also is way quieter
      Additionally i don't think the bullet is heavier i think it just has less powder? The same way the .44 is more powerful then the .45 or whatever because it has more powder so travels even faster and has more energy?

      Well, yes actually. Rifle rounds actually over penetrate, this is why those that yaw like the 5.56mm and the 5.45mm are rather powerful despite the small bullet. The idea of the Subsonic however is that less penetration as well. It also has increased Sneak-Attack damage multiplier.
      I'm not trying to be realistic however, just more expansive.

    I wish someone someday will make Doom's arsenal mod for F4. I love combat shotgun in Doom 2016.

    Why would you swap the barrel with the gas tube on the combat rifle though?

      Because it looks like a proper assault rifle that way, with the gas-tube on top. But as with 3.74, I added option for classic barrel placement -- looks shit, but you do you.

    if only it wasnt so annoying working with mods. I havent played fallout 4 in years and had my game set up with the perfect mods for me but opening vortex for the first time since than I'm getting a lot of red window errors. Sigh

    Tip for xbox users, use the lite version, the AIO is 800mb, but lite drops 600mb worth of pipe gun textures, so just use lite, unless your doing a pipe gun build or something

    I wounder how this mod compairs to Extended weapon mods.
    it seams to be the same base idea but the weapon overhaul just goes way deeper but extended weapons mod is prob more compatible since it does not change/add nearly as mutch

    This mod broke my game for some reason. It worked fine for a while, but now my game freezes when I try to load a save, and takes for ever getting into the mod menu

    yo dak do you have a lot of issues with this mod? Idk if it's just me but I love the mod. unfortunately the weapon modification menu is all kinds of wierd. sometimes ammo type options don't appear, sometimes different part selections will be on there like 3 times, and the worst is that on certain weapons when you are choosing damage affecting pieces the damage will just stay the same regardless

      You have conflicts. Multiple selections means there are multiple constructibles that exists, like if you have UFO4P.
      FO4's system is also a bit whack. You need to be equipping your mod as you mod it so that all of attachments show up.

      @@The6thMessenger aaaah appreciate the personal response. like I said I absolutely love the mod and what it aims to accomplish. there's only a few things that make it rough, but it sounds like a lot of that isn't something you can realistically change. do you think any reload reanimation mods could cause some of the issues? I know a few have additional changes to the weapons and some don't

      @@carsonkouts That depends on the animation. It has custom SMG animation for the foregrip and magazine, but otherwise it should be fine for most other animations. It has patches for the right-handed AK and Hunting-Rifle. It's pretty safe in most cases actually, and it's only a matter of adding the right keywords.
      Personally I use Wardaddy's Revolver and Combat Shotgun/Rifle animation.

    How does this compare to Gunsmith Overhaul? I enjoy Audixas' mod for how simple and seamless it is although T6M's mod also seems pretty viable in that regard.

      I haven't tried the opposition, but it seems like it's a bit more simplistic and a lighter. My version is rather personal, has a bit more development internally that it calculates different damages multiplicatively and has ammunition-switching.
      Consider this, the basic damage-receivers adds 25% of damage, and so does the legendary attachments. To a 12 damage, that is just 3 per instance, even if it's legendary. So if you have an advanced receiver with 21 damage, the powerful legendary only buffs that at 24 damage, by adding 25% of the base damage instead of 26.25 damage if the legendary is also multiplied.
      This multiplicative damage is important for the caliber-switching so that the base-damage is properly multiplied, and the other damage-boosting attachments won't provide diminishing returns.

And the general sandbox nature of the customization on offer was fun to mess around with for a while. Although I'll definitely be sticking with Gunsmith Overhaul until I'm ready to commit to a fresh playthrough. I think it's safe to say that WOR and GO are answers to different problems.
      Also, what are your permissions for WOR? I'd like to -shamelessly rip off like a freeware mobile game- copy your revolver assets for a Metro themed weapon pack.

      You said metro, I assume the Magnum, you have to ask Sajotomov for that.

    What annoys me most about fallout guns are how the mags dont feed into the feed ramps or allign with the barrel properly and the bolts have the same movement and charging handles which makes no sense at all.

    My only complaint about the mod is the removal of 45.70 and 7.62 calibers from the lever action and handmade rifle overhauls because the mod author claims they're useless

      762 is still there. 45-70 is renamed to 500 Magnum.
      And in the scheme of things, they ARE useless, they are just virtual currency that arbitrarily prevents a weapon from being used when you don't have it.

    This mod is cool and all but at 01:47 theres like 4 guns that all have the wrong tube as the barrel, the action and ejection ports dont even line up
