Vlog Practice #24: Testing a new camera setup at VidCon + Tentacle Sync & Sony Catalyst Browse

This week was a good practice week in the sense that I tested out a few new things. I recently picked up a pair of Tentacle Sync E devices and a Tentacle Track E wireless transmitter, so I wanted to familiarize myself with the process of using timecode for a two-camera-plus-lav setup. And the big thing I had going on this week was covering VidCon for the day job. So I needed to figure out what camera setup I wanted to bring. While I love shooting with a gimbal, I was leaning handheld because it’d be easier to switch between the different types of filming I needed to do: on-tripod interviews, handheld interviews and b-roll. That meant seeing if I could use an app like Sony’s Catalyst Browse to stabilize handheld footage. And then it was time to test out the setup at VidCon.
