- Zeus presents Daley Thompson's Supertest 128 (un-emulated) for the zx spectrum, a true classic from the golden era of spectrum gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1985
Another great sporting game. This took the 8-event 48k version further by adding 128k sound and adding a further 4 events.
I''ve included the good and bad end-sequnce screens.
This was originally released to promote the 128k+1's release.
Hope all you Spectrum fans enjoy this upload.
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any.

Keeping the memory of the Spectrum and it's cool games alive!!! - Hry
Legendary! Great memories of this and playing it with other lads. It used to regularly freeze and it took bloody ages to load, busted up more than one joystick on it too lol!
Had this on my +3 so quick loading times which was handy when playing this with my mates. Great memories 😊
Less than 1 second now if an SD device is plugged into the zx
I used an old joystick from my knackered Atari 2600 for this, modified with the top of a shampoo bottle. It looked crap but was devastatingly effective!

Ha, LOL, I'd love to have seen that!
i used to play this along tme ago when i was young. thanks for bringing back the memory
I'd completely forgotten Daley Thompson taking penalty's in the Olympics, brings it all flooding back
I remember wrecking loads of joysticks back in the day with this game with the levels that you had to go left and right really fast to build the meter up
Sometimes i could make.myself loose on.purpose just to see him cry at the end. A bucket of tears.😂
My first game on the ZX Spectrum 128
Wasn't it given away with early 128's?
@@andrewfishpool89 yeah along with the Neverending Story
I could occasionally beat Curly Cobb (the sixth bloke) in the Tug O' War, but The Woods and Gus were totally beyond me. Gus especially was just unbeatable.
Remember playing this game and have beaten "the Woods" a few couple of times. Gus was impossible for me
easy way to beat GUS - press slowly left and right. Slower than other blokes. That beats Gus.
I remember this game. The reason you bombed at the diving was you weren't pressing the jump button at the bottom of every bounce. That's what the first judge marks you on. With three bounces you get more height which means a longer jump into the pool and more time for more somersaults. Bouncing right directly affects the score that three of the judges give you.
And even THAT was bloody difficult to do!
defo sampling this sometime..this game was hard..broke at least 2 joysticks
Never could qualify on the diving either 😂
I love the way the guy you're controlling looks absolutely nothing like Daley Thompson.
Maybe he's the coach behind the scenes ;-)
I started using the keys but I stop playing the game...after 20 years my old computer still works all the keys..
I found it much easier to use the keys on this and decathlon rather than ruin my Quickshot II Turbo joystick.
I never used a joystick to play this game... With keys was safer
I could never see how it was possible to do the slalom on even the lowest level. It was impossible to build up any momentum without missing gates and if you got the gates you had to crab across sideways and lose all your speed.
No one beats GUS.
Especially considering he was programmed to be unbeatable.
The names on the leadeboard always amused me: THE GAY DAN
Better than hyper sports . 👍👌
I hated the last two events, i always sucked at them.
I would've prefered another two track events personally.
Sorry..30 years....when i buy combat school with the joystick was fine!!
