Superficial Hemangioma || Ultrasound || Case 309
Clinical Features:
A 7-year-old boy came with a bluish lump at the right superior aspect of the back of the chest.
Ultrasound Features:
- An oval lobulated hypoechoic area is noted at the subcutaneous layer of the back of the chest.
- Color Doppler shows high vascularity within the lesion of both arterial & venous types.
- Feeding artery arises from adjacent chest wall arteries with a high velocity moderate resistant flow.
Remember:
Whenever you get a lipoma-like mass in a child, use color Doppler to exclude hemangioma.

Grteatttt, how to differentiate AVM

1. A nidus for artery-vein communication
2. Arterialization of vein on spectral Doppler
3. More velocity on the vessels that we need to increase PRF/scale.
-- I use the 2nd point more.

Sir, heminigioma swell and shrink again and again

Sir plz reply regular swelling and shrinking of heminigioma is normal.

Sometimes heminigioma in neck swell for 5 hours and then it shrink. Again after sometime it swell for 20 days and then shrink. Is it normal
