    I've had this dishwasher for 3 years and I absolutely love it!! I got rid of the silverware rack and only use the top rack for our silverware. I run a daycare and I'm able to fit a lot of dishes in this. It's almost silent, extremely energy efficient/water efficient, and does a phenomenal job cleaning. It was definitely an investment, but well worth the extra cost.

    I just installed this in stainless this week. Wife loves it and thank God for the red light that shines on the floor, otherwise you would never know when it's running! Third rack is awesome! Controls will take some getting use to but not to bad. Hope it holds up.

      We've had ours about 18 months now and I usually just run it on Auto. It pretty much takes care of the rest. I love the third rack too! Hope you like it!

      @@user-tu6ty2ui1u Who cares? I only want top of the line. I am SO DONE with "Buyer's Remorse" purchases of cheaper models. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. For a rental property, I'd buy cheap stuff. But when I buy things for my own personal use, I only buy absolute top of the line or nothing. It's only money. YOU CAN ALWAYS EARN MORE. You're not a pharaoh. You don't take your money with you when you die. Either buy the best stuff or don't buy anything at all. My dishwasher retailed for $1999. Money spent 6 years ago. Think I care that I spent that money 6 years ago? HELL NO! I've earned a few hundred grand since then that time I bought it.

    We purchased this exact dishwasher 11/30/15. As your review states it was quiet and the only indication it was running was the red light on the floor. You needed to open the door to believe it was running. This is as advertised also. About 1 month ago it started making a relatively loud noise that sounded like the arm was hitting something. Also you really heard the water sloshing when the wash cycle was running and a buzzing. We have had two Bosch repairmen come to fix but they say this is normal and nothing is wrong. There was a definite change from when we purchased to the performance of the dishwasher now. Quiet no longer, but we are totally frustrated as to how to get it fixed. Amazing the Bosch repairmen just tell us nothing is wrong with our dishwasher even though they here this noise but say all is OK. Any sugestions? Is your dishwasher quiet throughout the entire cycle?

    • @joelecrump
      @joelecrump  Před 8 lety

      +Jenny Vander Broek Ours has remained silent to this day. I had a similar experience with the noise coming from the arm, but it was because I needed to raise the middle rack another notch. The arm really was hitting a tall item on the bottom rack. Let me know if you find out what's causing your noise...

    I seen a few remarks on how to load your knives in the dishwasher. Now here's my two cents good and knives and I don't mean dinner knives do not ever be long in the dishwasher. Use them wash them and put them in a knife block as soon as you're done. I might wash the same knife 3 times while making dinner and my knives are over 20 years old and they're still is nice as when I purchased them. And yes they are a very expensive set. Thanks for posting this .

    I just got my new 500 series. Issue is settings to shut off the beep beep beep once cycle done. I figured it out but now it won't reset so I can choose
    auto wash. No help by manual. Its a very confusing settings panel. Not happy that I have to use Finish products to wash/dry. Without the dishes won't
    dry well. The 800 series addresses drying cycle better, so look at that one instead. I may return mine for the 800 model. It is quiet. My old Bosch (14 yrs) was
    easier and quiet, miss it.

      I just bought a 500 series a couple of weeks ago. I went in to change settings such as drying time and rinse aid amount. After that, I could not get it to change from "auto" wash. However, after watching a CZcams video on how to reset this, I was fine. Just hold down the start button for ~ 3 seconds and it should clear all previous settings. I use auto, sanitize and extra dry (door opens) and it works great! I did run it without rinse aid the first time and things were a bit wet. This is to be expected as there is no heating element. With rinse add, everything was completely dry with the exception of small amounts of water on plastic.

    • @flynn1a
      @flynn1a Před rokem +1

      I agree with you. I just got this same model a month ago. The tines are awkwardly placed, the whole thing seems flimsy,especially the soap dispenser latch, it doesn’t dry well at all, you have to download the manual to figure out how to change settings (which I still haven’t really figured out; I have to reset it every time instead of having it go back to my preferred setting). It was twice the price of my old Kenmore but works half as well. I do love the upper rack for silverware though. And in the end, when I was shopping for a new dishwasher, this one seemed like the best one out there. Sad.

      All knives should be hand washed. A dishwasher is the worst place for knives. The extreme heat, and clinging of other objects on blades is not good for your knives.

  • @fdfc78
    @fdfc78 Před 4 lety +9

    Dude, never wash knives in the dishwasher unless they are the flatware variety. The chemicals are bad for the blade and the super hot water dulls the edge.

      Tim, I read somewhere that this may be due too the height of something in the draining area (i.e. make sure the drain hose goes higher than something to keep odors out). Might be worth looking into. I'm not an installer just saw that mentioned somewhere. When I was looking at reviews...
