"They can all go straight to hell."
It's a subtle edit that goes unnoticed if you don't know the original. But what's the hell's so bad about using the word "hell"? Are we afraid ISIS is gonna get ticked off?

I saw CDB do a concert at a random county fair many a year ago after the release of "Simple Man". He invited a young girl, about 10 or 11, who was the state champion violinist in her age category, up onstage with the band for this song. She doubtless was used to classical music, but she brought her A game. He let her play the first fiddle bridge, then called "my turn!" And played the second, and they did the third in unison. She must have practiced until her hands were about to fall off to mimic his technique and speed, but she nailed it, and her grin was ear to ear.

I borrowed from Still in Saigon to demonstrate the mental anguish of Vietnam vets as Charlies did with his song.
There are also those that returned physically and described in excerpts from a poignant song by Charlie Daniels: "Still in Saigon," these Americans that cannot erase the memories of Vietnam from their mind and cannot escape the prison of their mind. No place to run to escape that war! Called a killer, I'm someone else, I'm sick and there's no cure. Damned if I know who I am. I only knew in Saigon. I smell the jungle with the summer rains, I hear the planes. I can't tell anyone I am ashamed, afraid someday I'll go insane. Time has gone by yet the sounds of long ago will be forever in my head. Mingled with the wounded's cries and the silence of the dead. I am still in Saigon

Primus did a cover of this with an animated (claymation) video. I've heard people say that this song was also on "Guitar Hero" or another similar type of video game. Many country music fans say that the difference between a violin & a fiddle is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has STRANGS! Mr. Daniels doing a little bit of Southern rapping before the word "rap" was barely known to mainstream media. This is one of those fun upbeat songs that crosses genres to make everybody clap their hands & tap their feet. :-)

Taz(Joel DiGregorio), playing keys with a busted flipper, always catches people off-guard the first time they watch this video. He had gotten jumped, in a bar, a couple days before this concert. He broke the hand on someone's jaw. Don't worry. He broke the jaw as well. Taz passed in a car crash in 2011.

L, when you reacted to Blake Shelton’s God’s Country...Your favorite line “The devil went down to Georgia but he didn’t stick around”; this is where the line came from! Legendary!
Please do more Country...there is so much greatness!

Always look forward to your reactions. Sad circumstances unfortunately with Charlie Daniel passing away. Was fortunate enough to see him live years ago along with a few other bands. He was by far the best of the day. He'll be missed.

Their first hit, which doesn't get much play time, is Uneasy Rider. Who knew Charlie was such a hippie back in the day?

Charlie Daniel's suffered from an extreme case of stage fright he could not look beyond the first couple of rows so very early in his singing careerr he always closed his eye then after a great deal of therapy he was able to opponent his eyes to the first few rows, which is why he always kept his hat pulled down low towards the end he was almost ready to see all his audience but not quite all but it was a marked improvement from what he started from rip Charlie you where a big part of my growing up.
