Useful comparison thanks. It's funny the general dislike across youtube commenters of the POD Express cause "it's a plastic toy" when it has some great, uesable tones. Being a senior in a tiny apartment this Express is more practical than a pedal board, more fun less hassle than Bias FX/Amp for play and recording and cheap for an all in one modeler.

Thanks for the great comparison video mate, well done.
Hey, just wondering if there is an editing program for the Express ? something like the HX Edit i use on my Helix ?

Not at this time. Personally, I feel like a deep editor kind of defeats the purpose of the Express with the WYSIWYG controls. If you’re into deep editing on a computer I would save your money for a POD Go. It’s more powerful and more flexible.

So this would be perfect for someone who just needs a few good sounds and record at home 👍🏻

I just wonder if I can use My hx effects with pod express. I just need the amp simulator, and all the effects would be from hx..

Yes, you could put the Pod express in an effects loop and place it anywhere in your signal chain. Just like any other outboard fx pedal 👍

Nice video, thank you! From my side it sounds very similar and pod express looks to be a good alternative for a big and expensive Helix.
How does it sound for you when you play it? Do you also feel similarities in sound?

The core sounds are basically the same. The helix is just so much more customizable with being able to access all the additional features of the amp. Like the placater dirty has the hbe, fat, and c45 switches that you can turn on and off. Pod express doesn’t have the ability to switch those features yet. Not to mention sag, bias, and cab/mic options.
But if all you need is the core tone, go for it!

What mic/position etc did you use to match up the Helix cab with the stock Express cab, is it just the default settings on the Brit M25 cab block? Thinking about getting an Express and wanted to try it out with the more limited settings using Helix Native.

I used whatever cab came with the helix version when you select the amp/cab combo block. I didn’t really try to match anything per se. I wanted to keep my tweaking to a minimum because that’s really the point of the POD Express: great sounds with a twist of a knob. No need to deep dive into editing settings.
