I only have Earth AD as an original. The cd boxset is great for anyone who's wanting a lot of Misfits stuff in one go. The epic thing about this video is hearing Witch in the background. Had to listen to that after watching this.

I do like some hardcore stuff as well like Discharge but that stuff is basically totally new to me. Regarding the Misfits, I love Last Caress, but it doesn't really go further than that. Oh, and some songs of the Famous Monsters record. How are you on that era of the Misfits? I hear different opinions on that.
I don't really know that era of the Misfits, honestly, which is kinda lame and bad-fan of me, but by the time they reformed, I was past pretty long past my peak of Misfits fandom. Misfits are one of those bands that sort of fell through the cracks back in the day and I’ve been meaning to really properly go through them so this video is a good starting point. I have some Danzig albums but like you i was not really into pink back then although post-punk I loved. So this gives me good homework. Speaking of not knowing about bands etc back then and pre internet days, the first time I ever actually saw Metallica move, and I was a big fan from the start, was the release of the One music video, a good 7 years after I got into them with Kill em All. And solely because I realized I had never owned a J. Geils record or actually listened to one all the way through. As it turned out, I thought it was terrible and didn't even make it all the way through the first side, but I guess I've done that now.

The Crimson Ghost is smiling, chilling in your living room. The mystery about the appearance of the guys was cool, but one thing was pretty certain, none of those guys would have a mustache. I have Samhain's Initium, and in the next episode, I'm probably gonna learn it's a boot haha.

People hyped them to me as the fastest band ever, but I had already heard Slayer, Whiplash, etc before hearing the Ramones. So when I finally checked 'em out i was like, "this is alright but it's not really that fast; what's the big deal?". Misfits lyrics were IMPOSSIBLE to understand before the Internet ruined the mystery :-) Agreed on WITCH! I think the price has come down since the reissue...and since folks finally got to hear what it sounds like.

While I don't own the Witch (I do want to own it after I tell this, cos it makes more sense on why I want to). Story time. back when I joined the Heavy Metal Rarities the Founder of the forum (who is also the founder of the Rare & Obscure Metal channel) would brag about of how he owns that Witch record and (given this is a Downloading forum) he at wasn't going to upload the album to the site for anybody to download (could never figure why he was so reluctant to even upload it, it wasn't going to see a reissue yet) and members would ask him, but he wouldn't, unless you did something, I mean for a record that cost's just as much as your car payment, it really added to the curiosity, so pretty much all of us who had never heard this record, who seen scans of the covers are lead to believe that this might be the holy grail of Heavy Metal records, eventually the Founder cheered up and around Christmas time he was jolly enough to finally upload his rip to the forum to for us to finally hear (though it was only going to be up for a limited amount of time, lol) so when he did I finally got around to check it out and was it the Holy Grail of Heavy Metal records?...nope, all that fucking suspense and that is what it sounded like!, it was a tease at the time but now since it's been Reissued and is not being sold at such a dumb amount of dough, I can now add some piece of my past to the collection. It's actually been years since I've listened to The Misfits, I got into 'em after I got into Danzig's solo stuff, same goes for Samhain as well. one of the few Punk bands I like. very cool to see your collection. Legacy rules, but I got oversaturated by it early on. Same with the first Collection comp LP... when Collection 2 came out it blew my mind. I think Static Age is underrated as far as their LP's go, but Earth AD is their pinnacle for me. My Aggressive Rockproduktionen press of Earth AD is one of my prized LP's, really need the matching press of Evilive. I have an early Ruby press of Walk Among Us, as well and that's probably my next favorite. The 1980 MSP Sessions is also pretty fucking great. Makes me realize that a lot of my favorite Misfits shit are bootlegs.
I realized when I was getting ready to make this that I really kinda need those MSP sessions, preferably a decent boot. But you know, there was something about that Collection 1 package that always seemed a little bit "less than".... back when that was the only thing you could get on CD, I remember thinking I'd be bummed if I only had that, rather than the records. So much so that I was a little surprised when they put that thing on LP.

impressive misfits collection. never got into those guys early on but then that whole metal vs. punk thing in the 80s was probably why altho misfits never took heat, all disdain was centered around the ramones and sex pistols with all my banger buddies.i think the misfits horror style gave them a bit more cred whereas we used to call the ramones "the wayouts" haha. heyy ,its all classic rock today. i did kind of get into the michael graves era of the band tho. american psycho was killer. Anyways man....gotta go....heading over to vinyl eyezz so i can learn about the history of shellac vinyl records. XD .
You know, I never really experienced that punk versus metal thing myself. In the circles I ran in in Germany, it was cool to listen to both, and by the time I came back to the US, shit was on the way out.

I discovered the Misfits though Metallica about the same time you did. My 1st was Collection as it had all the songs I knew at the time. Then drank damn CD kool aid and bought Walk Among Us and Earth A.D. on CD grrr I remember flipping the LPs in the bins damnit , wish I snagged them then. I do have some now but some are reissues. Had a shirt with the Earth covers on the front and back ...loved that shirt wore it to the ground then sold it LOL. Man, it's amazing how the Misfits fandom spread back when it did.... Sure, Metallica was a big boost, but even so, it seemed like in the space of a couple years, they went from being the most obscure thing ever to every skater kid's favorite band. My boy made that little interstitial there... I just asked him to stitch the two parts of the video together, and this is what I got! hahaha!

impressive misfits collection. never got into those guys early on but then that whole metal vs. punk thing in the 80s was probably why altho misfits never took heat, all disdain was centered around the ramones and sex pistols with all my banger buddies.i think the misfits horror style gave them a bit more cred whereas we used to call the ramones "the wayouts" haha. heyy ,its all classic rock today. i did kind of get into the michael graves era of the band tho. american psycho was killer. Anyways man....gotta go....heading over to vinyl eyezz so i can learn about the history of shellac vinyl records. XD .
You know, I never really experienced that punk versus metal thing myself. In the circles I ran in in Germany, it was cool to listen to both, and by the time I came back to the US, shit was on the way out.
