My God...you brought back memories from my childhood. My friends and me used to spend all day in the woods. Building things and fishing and wading through a cool stream in the summer days. We NEVER brought food though...ha! We never thought of it ever. We were so hungry by noon. I remember every Thanksgiving and Spring break we would camp out over night but not in the summer. It is too hot and humid here. We would go far back enough to be out of ear shot range of our parents. Thanks for bringing back pleasant memories. You just about brought tears to my eyes.....Great video.
Great to see a younger person of a generation that has been swamped with Ipads and PC based social media to be still interested in the life of living off the land. I still remember as a kid watching the latter versions of Grizzly Adams and how it made me want to head for forests of Montana or Yellowstone national park. It teaches you the reality of life, how vulnerable we all really are without our flash houses, supermarkets, public transport and basic off the grid skills. It is so refreshing to see. More relaxing, slower-paced, more human way to enjoy life. You have to know how to make fire, shelter, hunt for food, collect water, appreciate the things that we take for granted. Maybe we all need to spend a week or two living this way.
Thank you and I do enjoy watching your videos. You guys are awesome including Grizz. Hope you guys keep having fun and enjoying those beautiful places together.
The ground there is looking great, but must be very cold, but you must be having so much fun with your traveling companion. You have help clearing out a spot to start your fire and he is so cute and cuddly too. Your steak looks great and must be so delicious too. Your shelter will be looking nice once it is fully built and you are able to stay in it over night.
I was looking for a lady like you 40 years ago and never could find one. I did, however, find a dog like Grizz (sadly passed 5 yrs ago) and I miss him every day.
enjoyed - your adventure inspired me to hike in Charles Deam wilderness and build a fire and cook steak over on open fire and enjoy a beer and later coffee - thanks for posting ! Please make more!
Nice relaxing video. Seen folks do this many times, but i still don’t understand cooking directly on coals. I have a small folding grill that takes up almost no room in a pack.
Love your videos. You remind me of my daughter. Her and I do a lot of outdoor stuff together (camping, canoeing, OCR races), and she often goes camping on her own with her dog Charlie. He goes everwhere she goes, just like your Grizz. Keep up the great work!
I was going to be patient and wait untill your next video but you seem to be the kind of person that would want to hear what I have to say. I was born in Ontario California back when people knew the history of their town, we knew it was named after Lake Ontario, Canada and now that I live in Etiwanda California The town with the 1st Street lights before La, the first long distance phone call to New York and much more all because of Chief Etiwanda of Lake Ontario. Chief told George Chaffey, a Canadian, to quickly go to the United States and stake a claim on a property that a gold prospector found. Chief told George to look for Day Creek Canyon at the bottom of Mount Baldy, but George had to invent the concrete water pipe to make it happen. Me, being half Canadian have always admired my section of the Inland Empire much deeper 💧 than anyone I've ever met here. When I discovered you last week I already knew that you and your people can be the ones to inspire someone like me. I run a handyman business and when I discovered CZcams DIY videos I had the same relaxed confident feeling, content to make my handyman business successful. Never in a million years did I think DIY videos would lead to someone that could inspire me and fill a hole in my heart that I didn't even know I had. You're My People and I can't wait to see a new video with your husband and Grizz filmed in your neck of the woods. If it cost money to subscribe on CZcams I would pay for DIY videos and you!
Man I love your videos. Never thought of cooking steak and sweet potatoes directly on the fire. Keep those videos coming! I’m new to bushcraft. Started watching last summer. Trying to learn all that I can😁
I also appreciate the fact that you know enough to cook over the coals - pot/pan, or not -instead of an open flame = smoke/soot flavored food. The cedar plate was a *nice* touch, too! Well done!!
I watch your videos for the last few weeks and been incredibly inspired and only want to get out there and do the same! I love your style and I will pursue this need for freedom so to speak. I know this will impact my life in the best way possible. Keep doing your thing!
It’s been a great winter in Northern Ontario this year , not to cold and not to much snow , great for winter activity’s , nice to see people enjoying our natural resources.
Awesome! Similar gear as me right down to the pack, bottle and saw. My brother gave me an m390 steel Bradshaw knife... wow... just wow. Love the 0 to -10 days in a hammock. Tires my laberdoodle right out for a solid 24hours after we get back. Shelter building is way easier in fall before the snow with some tyvex to save some trees and work. Hope to start my cabin next year!
Looks like she had a really good dad .Brought up hardy and gets right into things .Here in Scotland we always and still do these things .Moved up a notch to stag hunting ..Cant beat the great outdoors.

When your dog turned up it's nose to the clean water, it reminds me of my 3 Rotwillers (that are Rotten, LOL). They will drink out of the nasty mud hole and not the fresh water. They make me so mad because I want them to have a good life and not a stinky breath. LOL
look like a great day to be out ,nice saw , hadn't ever cook right on the coals but over a open fire plenty , the shelter is coming along ,, at least you didn't fall this time , just the camera , lol , be safe Alexis
Finally a CZcamss Bushcrafter that made a comfortable camp chair!!
Wonderful view in the woods, thanks for the update 👍
Sitting on the beach at 95 degrees and watching Careena in the snow. It’s a great day.
You could tell Grizz is in dog heaven when he jubilantly runs around in the snow.
