People that slag of the hgv industry are the people to blame if there is a shortage at truck driving Because they slag it of so much that nobody will touch it If they keep slagging of the industry yes it wont look good in the future We need people like you showing the light on it and you do Keep safe
Great video Deady. Been watching you for a while now, and after driving coaches and buses for 21 years I decided to go for my LGV 2. Passed back in July, and on Tuesday I start my new career! Thank you for the inspiration and also for all the valuable insight that you give in your videos into the industry. I would just like to say, now I will be having weekends off including bank holidays and Christmas and home every evening = family life, working life balance. Best wishes George. :)
IR35 was not a tax loophole, people who work for companies get a pension, do not pay corporation tax or company NI and do have job security and employment protection. A limited company driver gets paid more but has to cover pensions, periods out of work, corporation tax, accounting fees and the only advantage was less personal NI and lower dividend tax compared to income tax. It also supplied a flexible work force. IR35 was applied to the public sector and particularly hit agency nurses, the result was practically no increase in tax/NI revenue and increased rates, a complete failure as it will be now in the private sector.

I have been driving this desk for far too long and have started training for heavy goods \o/ Medical is next weekend and i am already picking my way slowly through the theory gumpf (hazard perception tests are freaking ridiculous! as a driver of more than 25 years already, im clicking too damn early lol) I did look at Hermes as a possible future thing but unfortunately too far away! Anyways, keep it up! all the little tips and tricks are super handy :)

I would happily drive a truck for minimum wage never mind £20+ an hour!!! Hi Gareth, was going to watch something this morning to pass a bit of time, here I am at 5:52 am after watching your vlog for an hour and a 1/4. hmm some time has passed!! I will blame this vlog if I am not ready to go away on Sunday, was supposed to be doing washing for next week. oh well enough time to do another load of washing before bed. but not going to look for another 1 hour 15 min vlog!! great vlog keep up the great work. yeah trucking is as hard as you make it, for both the respect from others, and driving wise, apart from mind reading the other road users. yeah the other truck driver probably did park in lane 3 to protect the car driver after the incident. well shouldn't be many other vehicles on the motorway in lane 3 that can actually move a 44 tonne truck, and definately makes the car a lot safer until the emergency services got to the scene, as the fools use the closed lane signs as an excuse to go faster in that lane.

Showing my age now but the drive into ASOS at 13 minutes we were delivering to build that road in the late eighties early nineties it was all coal field wasteland back then, being up there a couple of times this week. I've never driven a renault truck and I've never found a gearbox as bizarre as that one of yours. I've told you before I prefer shorter videos but here we are again and I've just watched this long one and you've still filled it with interest, entertainment a bit of controversy and some silly talk. New subscriber been blitzing through your vids top channel mate, I'm in public transport at the minute light rail been doing it for 6 years thought it was a job for life but I'm bored to death with it. Money is decent but what's the point in staying in the job if your not happy, I'm now planning on doing my hgv licence and hoping to get it all boxed off for b4 Xmas fingers crossed, I've always fancied doing my hgv I love driving and being out on the road so I'm sure I'll love the job. Would you recommend doing some agency work whilst working where iam still once I've past to get a feel of it or just jump straight into a job, cheers pal 👍

My dads a class 2 hgv driver hes been doing it for 33 years and now he's on 10£ a hour is that good he works for Best Food Logistics and mostly drives DAFS Scanias and he delivers to places like burger King KFC and Pizza hut is that good pay ?????
Mate if you are serious about taking gear go to your doctors and get your blood works done first and then get them done every six months thereafter also if you start getting soreness around your nipples or when you start taking gear get some tamoxifen which will eradicate that in my opinion if I was you stay natural there is a lot of shit out there so make sure you getting your stuff from a good source I took gear for 20 years lost a lot of mates in that time and myself I am paying the price you only have to look on youtube 7 bodybuilders have died in the last 2 months and that's only the tip of the iceberg all I am saying is do your homework first stay strong 💪💪💪👍

I had one for about 10 weeks and once you get your head around all the buttons it’s a good unit, but the 2 main issues I had with it is the speakers aren’t the best and the night heater is crap.
Ignore the haters mate. Got my class 2 test 18/10 hoping to get my class 1 sorted straight away after. Keep the vids coming as I find them informative and show what I’m getting myself into. I’m wanting to do nights also been keeping a eye out for Hermes jobs as I live near the castleford depot you went to a few weeks ago and not far from the torque one in this video. Like I said keep the vids coming and ignore the divs

The only thing that needs sorting. Is people like yourself doing class 1 driving for that money. It's drivers like you who mess it up for everyone. If firms keep finding drivers who will work for crap wages then they will keep on paying crap wages. Company's will only pay more when no one will do the job. As long as the are drivers who will work for crap wages then the wages will stay crap.
Well done best video you have made and well done on your reply to the one that's had a go at you. And at the end of the day it's your life and your job and you do what you like when you like. I was a driver and yes I loved it and yes my dad said donot do it but after get all my licenses it was the best job I ever had. I was a tramper living in my truck up to 6 week at a time got home for the 6 week check only. I loved getting up in a different place every day uk and all over Europe. I didnot care about the money which was ok and I could live on well. If I was not disabled now I would still be out there on the road. Keep up the super videos and never change the way you make them and the way you are as you keep me going when sick and in hospital. If you have a sticker love one for back of my two ton brick ( large SUV ).
I always want to be a truck driver but when i was younger my dad and all his mates all said the same, it's not worth it and is a shit job, I'm now 25 passed my class 2 in April and I find it to be the best and easiest job I've ever done it's definitely worth getting into and would recommend it to anyone

Same my dad said the same don’t bother it’s a bad job etc etc took his advice and hated every job until passed class 1 at 30 and it’s the best decision I’ve made should have done it sooner only thing is the way we are treated as drivers is maybe what they were talking about and no prospects with early starts and 15 hour days if you can find a job where those elements are ok then happy days ,12 hours (60 a week) is about my max I am doing agency work at the minute and tell them that so I get sent to places suitable. Have been doing it for 12 years now and it can burn you out sometimes after too many 15 hour days and 9 hour reduced rest with 2 hrs travel to and from work I can see why drivers leave also

Opportunities to do that are limited to owner drivers. It’s a big no no in company trucks, insurance only covers company employees.

the driving industry went self employed and many drivers refused to go self employed which is why so many drivers are now work for driving agencies

£10 an hour is SHIT, I get paid more working a factory job... people are getting £22 an hour now on agency.

I didnot care about the money which was ok and I could live on well. If I was not disabled now I would still be out there on the road. Keep up the super videos and never change the way you make them and the way you are as you keep me going when sick and in hospital. I always want to be a truck driver but when i was younger my dad and all his mates all said the same, it's not worth it and is a shit job, I'm now 25 passed my class 2 in April and I find it to be the best and easiest job I've ever done it's definitely worth getting into and would recommend it to anyone

Same my dad said the same don’t bother it’s a bad job etc etc took his advice and hated every job until passed class 1 at 30 and it’s the best decision I’ve made should have done it sooner only thing is the way we are treated as drivers is maybe what they were talking about and no prospects with early starts and 15 hour days if you can find a job where those elements are ok then happy days ,12 hours (60 a week) is about my max I am doing agency work at the minute and tell them that so I get sent to places suitable. Have been doing it for 12 years now and it can burn you out sometimes after too many 15 hour days and 9 hour reduced rest with 2 hrs travel to and from work I can see why drivers leave also
