Paul Harvey broadcast to millions of people every day for sixty years. But few saw him at work. Bob Sirott follows Harvey from home to work and everywhere in between for the CBS TV West 57th Magazine in 1986. See rare shots of Angel Harvey, his wife and business partner and his son Paul Harvey Jr., as Paul is honored by all, including President Ronald Reagan. Chicago based Harvey was called the voice of the silent majority and the voice of Middle America. He broadcast from Chicago on more than 1200 radio stations. He died in 2009.

I am an auto mechanic for a living but every shop I ever worked had the " Air Tool Rule " for Paul Harvey,, when Paul came on no one used air tools because they were loud and the compressor would come and be even louder. During lunch, we would gather around the shop radio at lunch and listen to Paul's longer lunchtime broadcast. Some times customers would sit around too and listen, they pretty much knew if Paul was on nothing was getting worked on. I miss those days greatly. A true American Icon Paul Harvey is.

Did Mr Harvey really have any peers? Especially these days, most people in mainstream media march obediently in step behind a Pied Piper brandishing a squeaky wheel. They see those who are not mesmerized in this way as a threat to their status and a slur on their choice of the busy path on which they travel.
Paul Harvey encouraged and admonished, because he cared, through actual news stories and he served a Master not in a rat race but in a higher place.
Not everyone can be Billy Graham or Paul Harvey or a true maverick of earnest hard-working character who dares to take on an all-powerful Swamp crawling with deadly beasts and the innumerable spawn of the original serpent.
They have chosen wrongly and are jealous of the good ones who strive to do what's right.
Sadly, they don't believe so they don't understand repentance is a good thing, and they keep striking out in fear and anger.
It's a negative news story and they don't report on it, because they are the news.
      Thanks, Paul Harvey!

The wisdom that only comes from the deepest understanding of the glory of our Great God. He has chosen your President for such a time as this, and I want you to know that we are praying for him in the UK and around the world, and for your military.

Your President went in to the White House whispering God's name but the man who resides there now, shouts His Name, and there is a Great Awakening coming. The fields are white for harvest, maybe for the last time.

According to Paul this is the only way to fix and eat corn on the cob:
    1. Fill a large pot with water and some salt.
    2. Place it on a burner set to high.
    3. Walkout the backdoor to the corn patch.
    4. Pick the amount of ripe corn you need.
    5. Husk each ear of corn while running back to the house.
    6. Put the corn in the boiling water.
    7. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes or till hot and tender.
    8. Call everyone to the table.
    9. Pull every ear of corn from the pot and race it to the table.
    10. Pass around mounds of fresh butter along with plenty if salt and pepper.
    11. Enjoy.
    12. Repeat as many times as possible during the corn season!

For those of you that never had the chance to listen to Paul Harvey and his wisdom, do what you can to go back and listen to his old broadcasts. The man will live on forever to those people who heard his voice once on the radio at 11:45 on the a.m. channel. Thank you Paul, hope things are as good as religious folks say it is for you. You deserve to be the creators journalist.

Paul Harvy, a solid man that had the drop on important lifestyle issues. Always loved listening to him tell it like it really was, just the facts! Grew up listening to his broadcast. He painted a clear picture of' what you need. Was a fine gentleman from a different time. Guys like Paul are special to find! Thank you! RIP.

It's so true. We are robbed of our imagination when we watch telly or go to the pictures. Listening to radio is more like reading a book. Your own imagination can take flight! He was an upright, thoughtful and good man. Another, "American patriot". You have given so much to the world and we thank you for all that you've said and done for the good of the world. The cemeteries in the UK and in Europe bear mute testimony of your honour and service, and you have sent missionaries to every corner of the earth. We're so thankful that your President made Brexit possible for us!
