HANDS UP” is Simba Sitoi's new single .
Immediately bounces into its chorus with its danceable and jazzy groove, Simba summons his crowd in English and Portuguese to raise their hands to keep the flame burning. The song’s hook-phrase “mavoko henhla”, also meaning “hands up” in Simba’s mother tongue, Shangana, creates a cross-linguistic homophone, which, to the English ear, sounds like ‘my vocal hands up’, a further pronouncement of Simba’s lyrical and flow prowess.

Simba Sitoi brand attracts the world’s cosmopolitan audiences, creatively mobilising and inspiring Mozambican youths to look inwards and upwards, and effortlessly compelling international ones to look outwards in recognition of a homegrown African hip-hop, which is influenced both by the sounds and flows of the jazz and soul movements, and the rap-greats who were similarly persuaded.
