- This is an HVAC conceptual video about the "Double Regulating Valve - DRV" regarding the HVAC system valves which are commonly used in chilled/hot water loops at AHUs and FCUs with accessories. This video is in the Urdu/Hindi language. It is basic learning detailed information for new or fresh engineers or technical field persons. It is also important for HVAC / MEP technical staff to leaning points of view. Here sharing my experience and knowledge that will be helpful to learn & grow for Engineers & Technical staff. If you found anything which is inappropriate then convey it in the comments for my information and rectification in the future.
I have explained the following in this video:
1. What is a Double Regulating Valve?
2. Types of the Double Regulating Valve.
3. Application of the Double Regulating Valve.
4. Function of the Double Regulating Valve.
5. Setting of the Double Regulating Valve, etc.

Purpose installing Drv in Chilled water return main line
Watch this video, I hope that you will understand
Tanveer pa g, plz guide me about fcu fresh air supply control & location of it & also control fcu air throw control.
Ok noted
Sir why we fix drv in return line please answer
Normally it is installed on the return line because of following reasons.
1. ASHRAE Recommendations.
2. The coil of the unit should be flooded in case the valve is closed.
3. With a control valve on the return side, the water is at a higher pressure through the coil, reducing off gas, thereby lowering dissolved oxygen content. Lower dissolved oxygen extends equipment life by minimizing the air entrapment.
4. If it is a hot system, some manufacturers have temperature limitations on the actuators. If there is a180°F limit on the actuator (common to some actuators), the return side is preferred as it will operate at a cooler temperature.
5. If it is a cold system, it is always better to have less thermal breaks on the colder side (e.g.42°F water) than on the warmer return side (e.g.,56°F water). The return side installation reduces sweating on the electronic actuator, which is more prone to failure when wet.
@@TanweerAhmed thanks sir.. quick response. Jazakallah
