- The "biscuit" affair was true but we has sweetened with little fantasy (read Geoff's book "Here There and Everywhere - My Life Recording the Music of the Beatles")
Mr. Geoff Emerick! the sound engineer of Abbey Road that worked with The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Badfinger, Elvis Costello etc, has collaborated in this last episode of the Beatoons, "the end" of the Studio Gags serie. He has given his voice to his own animated character.
So thanks Geoff, thanks Stevie, thanks Ryohei and thanks to all, this series has exceeded my most delirious expectations. See you!

God bless Geoff Emerick. I once had the pleasure of speaking to him on the phone; I'd bought a signed copy of 'The White Album' that was advertised as having been owned by Geoff Emerick, with documentation to back up that fact. It wasn't cheap (as you can imagine), but when it arrived, the 'documentation' was merely a comp slip, signed by Geoff - it didn't mention the album at all. The signatures were 'OK' (just), but the comp slip debacle had made me suspicious, so, in desperation, I phoned Abbey Road and asked if I could speak to Geoff! The lady receptionist explained he wasn't based there anymore, and she obviously wouldn't give out his contact details, so I explained and asked if I could send a letter to her, for her to forward to Geoff. It was a forlorn hope, but she took pity and said she would. So that's what I did - I wrote to Geoff, enclosing photocopies of the album and the comp slip, my contact details and an SAE, explaining the situation and saying his information or otherwise could save me a lot of money. I didn't really expect a result, but the following Sunday morning, around 10.45am, my house phone rang, and when I answered, a voice said "Hi, this is Geoff Emerick.... I'm just ringing to say that your album never belonged to me". I was gobsmacked! I spoke to him for a minute or so - what a gent - and thanked him for taking the trouble to contact me. He was really nice.
As a result I contacted the seller, explained the situation, and returned the album, getting a full refund. I told them they should never advertise it as having been owned by Geoff Emerick again. RIP Geoff.... I'm in awe of your talent and contributions to the soundtrack of my life, and eternally grateful for your kind response to my letter. You saved me a lot of money, but more than that, you gave me a Sunday morning I'll never forget. You're a legend.
*Several months later I saw the album for sale again, advertised as having been owned by Geoff Emerick.... what can you do? eBay is stricter now, thank God.

And I am like John here. Crying. So this is the end of this superb series. Thank you all a lot for this lovely tribute with such a good humour...The funniest part is that some stories like the Yoko eating George's biscuit and also breaking the mic are true! We can imagine it was all creating but it is part of their real lives. Amazing. Now...well now I am going to watch everything again. I love it.

I was fortunate enough to meet Geoff at the NAMM show this year...hands down one of the COOLEST people you could ever meet. I pray this is NOT the end of your cartoons. These are so well done. Take as long of break as you need, but I hope in some way you can continue the make The Beatoons :) :)

Any Beatles fan would enjoy Geoff's book. I just finished it and it was quite insightful and entertaining! If you get the chance, listen to the Beatles tracks as he discusses them because you'll understand the making of them better (Revolver, Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and even though he didn't work on it, he discusses some of Let It Be as well).

This is difficult to look-at when John is weeping...hurt.(with a talent as wild and savage as Lennon's, his 'cock-ups' would be equally savage...and sometimes, when you make a fundamental mistake, you cannot 'take it back and make things right' again) I know all about this personally...I 'made a mistake' and could not 'take it back' because of time and lack of money, and I've suffered for it for 23-years now. I fucked-up so badly my heart cries bitter tears every day over it...yet at night in my dreams I'm with 'her' always. (it's funny how your mind finds ways to 'protect itself' from your emotions...or none of us would last very long) Albert Einstein shared much in common with Lennon on an intellectual level and with regard to music (both were 'self-taught' musicians of the 'first-rank') and both managed to destroy themselves at an early age with actions they could not 'take back' and 'make right'...Albert was 'madly in love' with his first wife Mileva and both were happy and content, one with the other, until 'something happened' that could not be 'fixed'...their first-born was a girl, 'Liserl'...and they both decided to 'give her up' while she was still an infant. Why? No one knows...but speculation then and now is that their baby was born with 'Down's Syndrome' and not long after being 'given-up' the baby died from some disease, likely pneumonia.Albert and Mileva slowly grew hardness and bitterness in their hearts toward one another...it deeply affected them both the rest of their lives, apart from each other...Mileva, who was brilliant in her own right and understood well how Albert's 'obsessions' and 'compulsions' could seize hold of his mind and force him to almost 'work himself to death' regarding physics theory, became a 'shell' of her former self and was led into chronic depression and morose 'fits' that crippled her to the point of a state of madness. Albert simply threw himself into endless work...although he was a 'proud Papa' of two fine sons from Mileva and loved them both...he could no longer 'rejoice' in the simpler aspects of life as he once did...he told life-long friends like Henri Poincarre that "Men like us should never marry and have children...a paramour should suffice for the wants of the flesh and companionship and so on...to be a husband and father is unfair for everyone involved in such a union with a man whose mind is compelled to ignore them and focus solely on work!" *(1920) ('Albert' was both 'right' and 'wrong' in his assessments of 'husband & father'...and so was Lennon) "Every ship requires anchors to prevent foundering on shoals and rocks and heavy seas"...both men failed to see how important it is for a man to have 'emotional anchors' that serve as 'refuge' and not 'imprisonment'. Nor can any man 'run away from yourself as yourself'...to think otherwise is an illusion. Neither Lennon or Einstein could see this 'personal reality' as being a 'true truth' of being one's 'self'.
