    Now Pedro is inspecting the stones & crystals. He's so talented - supervisor, inspector, quality control, debator, linguistics expert. What a multitasker! Gotta love Pedro.

    Love your supervisor - he's really involved with his employee! Nothing like "beak on" supervision! What a character. Joey, my cockatiel, says: "Hola Pedro mi amigo. Como esta?" Beautiful finds. You are so lucky to live close to the areas where you find your beauties. Hope you & Wal are doing well & staying safe & healthy. Take care of yourselves & your precious Pedro.
    Love & Prayers for all,
    cutiekeet & Joey (JTB)

    You might look into getting an ultrasonic cleaning unit. They can be picked up very cheap on E-Bay. One of those would get every bit of dirt out of that size geode in about 30 seconds or less with no damage to the stone. Depending on the crud to be removed you could use straight water or, an acid solution cut to what ever strength needed. I use one for my metal detecting finds and they do take most of the work out of cleaning finds !

    I agree with an earlier comment. You could use a water pick. The kids use them to clean between their braces. You can control the rate of pressure on the good ones. It would make cleaning all those little nooks and crannies that much easier/quicker I think. Ain't nature grand!!

    Thanks Liz for yr great videos - provides us a fossicking fix during the travel restrictions. Like some of the other comments, I suggest you experiment with an ultrasonic cleaner. You can clean multiple items at once by making your own racks to hang in the cleaner.

    • @LizKreate
      @LizKreate  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the suggestion Mick but I do have a couple of ultrasonic cleaners and I use it a lot for my other gemstones except on these Mooralla geodes and crystals. The geodes are really fragile and will fall apart if used with ultrasonic cleaner and the tips of the crystals gets damaged when they vibrate against each other in the cleaner. Cheers, Liz

    What a beautiful bird you know I once raised a peach face love bird 2 day's out of the egg. She was a mess. I remember once my brother was doing the laundry while I was at work and she got out he had left the front door open it took me two days but I found her a neighbor had rescued her and my bird was in the neighbor's house I knocked on their door and the lady came to the door and I asked her if she had seen a bird and before I could finish my sentence my bird heard my voice and answered me and I told her oh you have my bird and the lady said how can you prove it's your bird it took about 5 Seconds of this lady watching me interact with this bird and she confessed that is your bird sir.

    Try using a water gun. Or even just a a teeth cleaning water squirter thingie. An ultrasonic cleaner can do wonders as well. For the rusty ones try phosphoric acid. Muriatic acid is easier to get, but turns yellow with iron and can seep into cracks staining stones yellow. Hard to remove.
