So much nostalgia from these houses. When I first started playing I always used to look at these and the school houses and always wanted one, when I finally had enough gold for the wooden cottage, I was the happiest man alive.
These used to be the prime houses, back when the carpet glitch was in it's prime, you could have SOOOO much creative fun. Love seeing these houses again, makes me want to play Wizard101 again.
Before the red barn farm and bundle houses came out, EVERYONE had the royal playhouse or wooded cottage. Some had marleybone houses and such and the really cool kids had the school houses.
Stupefying Steven T Back in late '08-10 I was gravitating around level 28 because I bought every area with crowns and did every sidequest (I was in krok as a magus) so yeah I never got to experience level 50 parties or whatever lol
These parties really just had every level and any level show up. I used to try and add the higher lvl wizards and be cool with them so I could be "popular". The early days of wiz, leave me with unique nostalgic feelings that don't come about to often.
Yes I agree, although I was menu chat back then for a while.. lol. Anyways wiz is a lot more competitive now, so the same feeling just isn't there unfortunately. At least for me

I remember back when celestia came out, if you had the crafted house then you were praised as a god because not only was it VERY HARD to craft it was cool and came with an arena. It was the best house sitting next to the massive fantasy palace. Fast forward to 2017 it's nothing special

I bought the wooded cottage again this year after selling the one I bought all the way in ‘08! It’s easy to decorate and I feel it matches my wizards personality. Doesn’t matter if it’s old, still a wonderful lil nostalgic house ☺️
They actually did add fishing, you just can't see the fish when you do not own the house. I would know because I fished in that house when i bought it.

I'm a level 17 Death with the Royal Playhouse and I'm so frustrated, because I have access to Krokotopia, Colossus Boulevard, and Sunken City, but I need crowns to access all of them. And there are no quests left in Firecat Alley and Cyclops Lane, which I bought before. I can't advance with my death wizard, so I started a Myth wizard. The struggle is real...
there are "secrets" in both the Wysteria Villa and the Jungle House boat. In the village of the villa, there is an arch that leads to a secret room. In the JHB on the right side on one of the staircases is a secret cargo/storage area
Even the smallest of houses can become as impressive, if not more impressive than the larger houses. Depends on what you do, and housing glitch art definitely helps.

We were lucky to have those houses back than and goes to show you Wizard 101 has come a long way from when those houses came out to the bundles, fishing didn't exist back in 2009, and the game came out in 2008.
I've been playing since 2009, before the crown shop and bundles were a thing. Those gold houses were all we had back then. I don't even think we could craft houses...
I started in dec 2008, and remember when they first came out with these houses. There was no crafting then. We didnt have mounts, pets were just decor basically, and no fishing. This is when the best crown gear in the game exist..then took away because it was "overpowered"... 😑
I could have sworn they had added fishing on at least the two wizard city houses, but I just checked (most of my wizards own the playhouse, because it had room for a full garden of pink dandelions, and at least one wizard has the cottage), and there was no fish. Gotta check the rest of these. I never liked the desert, so I never bought the Krok houses. I have the larger Marleybone and the smaller Mooshu houses on at least one wizard each. All of my wizards have the red barn farm, because of all the room for gardens plus the boost to plants.
I have owned the two in Wizard City and none in krok but my daughter owned the Oasis house in Krok. I did own one in Marleybone, I owned the Metropolitian one and I didn't know about the glitch. Never owned the Royal Estate in Marleybone. My death owns the Red Barn Farm.
They didn't stop making the houses, they just become craftable after. The craftable and the bundle houses are the best in the game and yeah, those houses used to be quite popular. I started playing back in 2013 and for a good many years, those houses were everywhere, but I do believe bundle houses were still a thing.
i remember mostly adding people with houses where you can claim free stuff, i used to visit all their houses only for the free loot so i could get some gold out of them
dudeee in my dayyyy royal playhouse was THE HOUSE. if you had it you were cool. one of my friends had it and i loved porting to her all the time. before i discovered the other houses i used to want the royal playhouse soooo badly and then i finally got it and i was so happy
BLAZE: Any good places to fish in Marleybone? Most of the city is on the roofs so there is no water, but you can fish int he new Barkingham Palace hub in the fountains. That's the only place to get the Royal Gurnard, which you need for the Barkingham teleport tapestry.

you don't, but i do know that wooded cottage and metropolitan manor don't have fishing and probably the rest don't have fishing either
J_r0x Only Bundle and School Houses have Fishing ATM. But there's beem leaks of other DoodleFish existing for some of the other houses.

You can't see fishing in a preview to the house however you can go to Castle Tours and fish there. That's how I got my tapestry to the Bazaar
