Anthem is, imo, one of the best pieces of musical work ever created. It is a perfect build of vocals, instruments, tempo and production. No man, no madness
Though their sad power may prevail
Can possess, conquer, my country's heart
They rise to fail
She is eternal
Long before nations' lines were drawn
When no flags flew, when no armies stood
My land was born
And you ask me why I love her
Through wars, death and despair
She is the constant, we who don't care
And you wonder will I leave her -- but how?
I cross over borders but I'm still there now
How can I leave her?
Where would I start?
Let man's petty nations tear themselves apart
My land's only borders lie around my heart

But it definitely is an immense performance and, in my (not always so) humble opinion, anyone that claims that anybody else even sings it in the same league as Tommy is surely a fool. =)
While others have made absolutely brilliant renditions of this song I just can't enjoy them because I can't help but measure them to this and they will always fall short.
wow thanks for that little bit of history, that is interesting. I cant help but to compare any performance to my favorite rendition so no worries there lol cheers
Anders Öhlund Jai McDowall. You're welcome.

Perfection!
Beautiful
This is a song I listen to every day. Amazing.
still here?
