Mr. Bodelle from all the videos I've seen, you are the most knowledgeable and no bullshit
As is so often the case, the simplest answer is best. Really appreciate this practical video, which recommends household items already on hand. Kudos, sir! 😄
Glad it was helpful!
Truly informative and butterly conspicuous.
Very good job, Sir.
so many fakes about cleaning nubucks and suedes but this genteman said the truth... it comes with experience thank you so much respect to you Sir
Glad to help, thanks for stopping by!
Great video thanks for the advice on shoes this week.
I don't know how I got the same answer, but dawn really cleans Timberlands like new if you dilute it well and use a tooth brush to apply it.
Awesome tricks n tips especially on the dishwasher soap. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate it so much...!
You are so welcome!
My all searches from two days came last by watching this video. A simple method fits to me. Thanks sir
Usually from your podiatrist, orthopedist. We do this at our store. If you live locally, come on in. If not, you may need to research stores in your area specializing in orthopedics.
Would have to be careful with the nail polish remover (acetone) does not bleed in to the seam of the sole/upper. Acetone will dissolve the glue that's stuck the sole on with.
Acetone/ nail polish remover would not be my first choice either.
Thank you very much; very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video truly appreciate it's simplicity👏
Glad it was helpful!
Brilliant ~ Thanks!
Thanks for a very helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
This worked! Phew!
So many videos recommend NOT using water? I’m confused.
Very informative. I'm going to try this with my wheat coloured nubuck, they are very worn and dirty.
Good luck! Let us know how it works out.
Thank you from Worcestershire, England 🙏
You're very welcome!

Should you spray soles as well of sandals to help keep the foot prints out?
nice video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
what if it is waxed nubuck like on the wolverine i90. have an oil stain
I know I am a bit late here but do you have any recommendation on a product similar to Altberg’s Leder Bok that would be available here in the US? Thank you.
What about a nubuck shoe that is entirely Varsity Boston Red, would I still use soap and water on it?
Sorry for the stupid question. But do I rinse the solution off with water after brushing or just wipe away the solution?
Use a nylon brush after you apply.
Is the brash brush better than a horse hair / softer brush for suede?
And what water repellant do you recommend?
The Brass brush is best for deeper matte like suede and some neubuck. Horse Hair is good for solid leathers.
We recommend a repellent like Camp Dry by Kiwi
but wouldn't the soap dry out the nubuck ? how do you condition the nubuck to prevent splitting and drying out ?........i've nubuck shoes that look a lot like soft leather, totally unlike the suede appearance..........
Nubuck leather is created taking smooth leather hide and by a process called "stone ground" creates a short nap. Clean nubuck by using nylon brush with the dish soap (1/3) and water (2/3) mixture. Suede is natural lining of leather hide. Hence the thicker nap. Use a brass brush for cleaning suede. Now you may be talking about oiled leather. If so, use saddle soap or mink oil. This restores the oil back in the leather and thus keeping it soft and supple.
@@BodellsShoes ......a thousand thanks indeed for the immediate reply (i wasn't expecting one).......
so you're referring to oiled nubuck leather ? because mine really look and feel like soft, well-worn leather - so using mink oil will be fine then ?..........people were suggesting mink oil and coconut oil - it's such a headache.......
so the usual nubuck will look and feel somewhat like suede ?.......
Do not use coconut oil, plant base. Mink oil is animal base. Conducive to natural leather.
@@BodellsShoes .......many thanks again, i plan to use mink oil too since liquid coconut oil is hard to control - just never thought of animal vs plant base thing.........so if oiled nubuck becomes smooth leather with mink oil - it's easier to take care of it, right ?
@@BodellsShoes are you sure it's not the other way around? I thought suede was the split portion of the hide and nubuck is the top train simply reversed so that the smooth side is on the inside.
Soap water for nubuck??
Great video sir. Very informative
Are regular suede sprays thesame as mink oil?
What are their uses in protecting suede/nubuck shoes sir?
Mink oil should only be used on smooth leather. You may use a water repellent or a waterproof protective spray and a cleaner which are made to clean suede and nubuck. Never put mink oil on suede or nubuck.
I thought roughout was the reversing of a piece of leather.
Yes that's what I thought as well. Seude is the poor man's nubuck
What is that nubuk shoe here in this video?
Samuel Hubbard style BUCKS.
@@BodellsShoes does it feel on feet as good as Birkenstocks? Can you recommend a high quality yet affordable dress shoe with wide toe box and Cork support?
Brass It gets between the suede “fibers” Careful don’t get the nail polish remover on the nubuck or suede it will discolor it.
The major difference is the last. As it centers you @ the arch, it aligns your ankle, knee and hips with correct weight distribution. Moreover, the cork arch by heat of your foot and compression conforms to your foot.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
