In this video, we explored Waterford and discovered cute independent shops, and friendly cafes, visited museums, and wandered the cobblestone streets of The Viking Triangle - Waterford’s cultural and heritage quarter which was once surrounded by 1000-year-old Viking walls.

That circular staircase at 9:06 was discovered back in the 90's, buried underground. When they excavated it, I was in my teens and my friends and I jumped over the makeshift wall and ventured down it to explore it. To think it had been hidden there for centuries without anyone knowing. I think they discovered it by accident when planning to do works on the Theatre Royal next door. They did a great job building a museum around it.

The ancient name for Waterford was Cuan na Graí. ( The Harbor of the Sun. )
