This was definitely my favorite album of 2021--no question. Can't count how many times I've listened to it from start to finish haha. Olivia's ability to convey emotion and her skills in storytelling are just...so damn good. 4:08 I've been thinking about it lately. Those "best years of my life" as they used to call them where a true hell for me. I realized i had to enjoy them, i just couldn't do it. It was out of my hands. Now i kinda want to re live them? but i think what we really mean when we say that is that we want to relive them with the mindset we have now. with all the information we now know. Cause i really needed all that time to heal from the bulling, the traumas, the low-selfsteem, and to learn how to defend myself, how somethings weren't my fault. so yes i would want to live those years again so i can enjoy them, but in order to enjoy them i would need to have my mindset of today, not the one i used to have at that time.

for most, I guess it is just teenage angst and once they mature they miss their youth. But people like me that had toxic home environments and also realize it's toxic at that age, the actual golden years are once you turn into an adult. I'm healthier and enjoying life much more now that I've moved out and am on my own. it's difficult when the people telling you to enjoy your youth are also the ones making your youth a living hell. if "it doesn't get any better than this" then what's the point cause this is already awful.

On your commentary about Brutal, I can happily disagree when it comes about "the golden years". As much as I've struggled (like the true millenial that I am) with my place in the world, I've enjoyed adulthood so much more in comparison to the teenage years.
