Visiting World-Famous South of the Border, South Carolina: Kitschy Roadside Motel/Attraction

In this video, JamesandKarla and their rescue dog Hudson visit the world-famous South of the Border, South Carolina kitschy roadside motel and attraction located just off Interstate 95 just south of the North Carolina and South Carolina, border. South of the Border got its name as it is the half way point to Florida from New York when driving along I-95. The restaurants, shops, amusement area and motel have been serving tourists for nearly 70 years and is themed in a faux-Mexican style. Its mascot is Pedro, a caricature of a Mexican bandido and it also has a 300 foot tall observation tower, which in the past, you were able to climb to the top.

About JamesandKarla:
Hey everyone! We are husband-and-wife architectural/interior photographers based in NYC. We started our video channel to act an artistic intervention to help raise awareness of the importance of small independently-owned businesses and the unique character these shops add to the streets and neighborhoods of New York City.
In our videos we will showcase portraits of storefronts and shop owners in New York City & beyond and capture moments of city life that capture the spirit, energy and cultural diversity of individual neighborhoods. We also bring our dog, Hudson along whenever we can.
