Dyson should hire you to do their instructional videos. So detailed and helpful! Thank you!
He’s like the detailer’s detailer 😂…this guy probably cleans the machines auto detailers use lol
Merci beaucoup pour ce tuto qui m'a énormément servi. C'est super cool de votre part d'avoir pris le temps 🤗👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
My problem was that my filters kept getting clogged up after a very short amount of vacuuming (30 mins). I called Dyson, but they just suggested replacing the filter and were kind enough to send a new one for free. Didn't solve the problem though. Finally, this video has answered revealed the root cause. My gasket was all ripped up, clogging half the cyclones and making no seal. My vacuum is now working like new again. Thank you so much!
Well this 62-year-old just took apart her daughters whole vacuum. Spic n span a new foam gasket was ordered off of Amazon and delivered today. Two for 30 some odd dollars. Thank you soooooooo very much 👍🏻
I was going to take my DC37 apart to deep clean but then I thought that maybe I should look at an instructional video first before attempting it. I'm glad I found your video. Great video. Thanks!
Thanks so much for this amazing video..i didnt like the job much but you explained everything so well!
Just thought I would let you know I am on my second vac. Bought one off marketplace for my son.. I am addicted to cleaning and clean vacuums 😂 I should start a business for old DC37 cleanings as a side job 🤔 thanks as usual 🙏🏼
massive thank you. I've just cleaned mine and wasn't sure how to put the rubber on 😀
Thank you for this extensive video! Easy to follow. Much appreciated!
Could you do a video on taking apart the "power" head and the stair attachment?
Sometimes my brush doesn't want to turn. I clean it of hair, etc, but it is still temperamental.
Thank you very much from Spain!! You made this very easy, I understand every single thing perfect. I really appreciate what you did for me an for every one. Love it. Thank so much!!
You're very welcome!
Thanks for your detailed video. I actually watched another basic video which didn't show a full breakdown of the cyclone section including that gasket. I washed everything thinking it would be fine. Luckily, I watched you later and realised the gasket and water collected in the white part would never have dried out properly. I stripped everything back as you did and now I know how to replace the gasket when the time comes! :)
I followed the very clear instructions here - even got a new gasket following the links provided - and the result is a revived vacuum that is as good as new. So I certainlt recommend this!
Good video for Dyson fans. After watching this. I am glad that I have a bagged vacuum.
this is super helpful - thank you very much
Thank you mate. I was about to get a replacement untill I saw your video and now mine works like brand new. Appreciate you taking rhe time
I couldn't have cleaned icing sugar out of the vacuum without this thank you so much
Very good video. Your instructions were thorough, clear any quite easy to follow.
Excellent video mate, thanks.
Perfect video, just made my vacuum cleaner “brand new”, the smell was spot on to smelly old carpet 😂 cheers from Brasil
Thank you so much for this!! Your instructions were nice and clear. Could easily clean my dyson!
Very thorough and easy to follow. Thanks for posting.
I took my daughters home today to clean it as it smells like dog so bad. Thought it was clean but it still smelled.. so here you are to tell me this is an issue with all the dander that accumulates in the deeper parts. Thank you so much for this. I clean houses for a living and I have to work with vacuums that are ancient but you change the bag and wash the filter and no smell so this is something I will do for her every year at least. 🤗 thanks again!
My suggestion is when it's disassembled. Like shown in the video. Take a 5 gallon pail with distilled water or just regular water, make sure it's cold. Place the plastic parts in the water. Weigh the components down somehow so that the parts remain submerged. Leave it for a week to soak. Soak the filter separately in cold water in an ice cream pail. If you want add a very small amount of cleaning vinegar to each water solution. Note let the neoprene gaskets somewhere cold and fresh air can get to it. You may have to dig further and go into the ball filter in the motor if the stench has gone into the motor end. Such sometimes is the disadvantage of plastic because it centrifugal absorbs odor sometimes
Excellent video! Thank you
Thank you! I need to do this and your instructions were so easy to follow and understand! I'm almost excited to clean it! You're right....that "old carpet" smell....yuck!
You are so welcome!
Your welcome :)
Absolutely perfect demonstration, thank you very much!
Thanks a lot dude it really allowed me to take my Dyson apart and clean it. Keep up the good work
Thank you! Super helpful
Thx a ton, easy to follow and link to the gasket which I need, mine lost one and two others are startin to tear.
Great video. Everything is explained clearly. It was neat cleaning. Sending my thanks from Kocaeli
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It really saved my nervs.
Your Welcome :)
Hello , thank you for this video which is the best one who explain clearly what to do !!!!!
Thanks a lot for this informative video!!
I’d like to see a video on how to replace the hepa filter
Take a magnet and slide it down the driver about 3 times. It will make it magnetic.
Really good video.... you solved my Gasket issue! ... Thank you
Super - just what I needed!😊
Much appreciated, thank you tremendous help.
great video... just wonder why Dyson makes it too complicate. The old day I have vacumn just change the bag and throw the bag away, it lasts more than 30 years , still working, no need to have deep clean up as the Dyson..
Great info
Thank you so much!
You assembled your 2 white pieces wrong. The "U" notch should match up on each piece. And that assembly should also align with the "U" notch in the purple lid.
Thanks for your comment, I did pay attention when I reassembled mine! Still a good video but I'm glad I read the comments first!
Thank you.
Thanks for this, very easy to understand. How often do you usually deep-clean your vacuum in this way?
Maybe once a year or if I accidentally vacuum something wet and the vacuums exhaust starts to smell
thanks a lot
Thank you this is super helpful. I have a question ~ my gasket mat thing is different to this and some of it is torn 1Password where can I get a new one and what is it called?
I would just type the style of your Dyson into goole with the word "gasket" and I'm sure one will pop up, hopefully from Amazon rather then Ebay. I find that Amazon orders come faster and with cheaper shipping options
Hello , thanks for help , but I cant find link to by gasket.
Thank you! Do you have a link to the micro tool set?
Here is a link to a tool set you can use
www.amazon.ca/Precision-Screwdriver-Multi-Function-Eyeglasses-Electronic/dp/B099NF2YZP/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=micro%2Btools%2Bkit&qid=1647131901&sprefix=micro%2Btool%2Caps%2C111&sr=8-10&th=1
What type or brand micro tool set should I get. All I need is flat head screw driver & T8 Torc bit? What is a T8 torc bit? I love my Dyson and decided to clean it myself verses taking it to a vacuum repair shop. Thanks in advance and thanks so much for this video….crossing my fingers. Regards, Charmaine
You would want a took kit like this one. because you will need a long skinny driver to reach www.amazon.ca/Precision-Screwdriver-Multi-Function-Eyeglasses-Electronic/dp/B099NF2YZP/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=micro%2Btools%2Bkit&qid=1647131901&sprefix=micro%2Btool%2Caps%2C111&sr=8-10&th=1
Thankyou. Very informative. Do you know why mine would be squeal when turning off.
possibly the gasket that I replace in the video is broken on yours and allowing air to pass and creating a squealing sound. or maybe something is stuck near the motor
Hi, where did you get the new gasket? Thanks !
Now the clear dust bin is cracked on mine. How easy is that to track down
My vacuum is now workinkg, as if I now purchased it.
Hi, can I please have the link for a new gasket. Mine has really had it. Thank you
where can we replace the other rubber seal the goes in between the cones?
Will this cleaning method work with a Dyson DC23?
The Dyson DC23 is slightly different, but this method should work.
Why not just vacuum the loose dust/debris with a shop vac and then wash the entire cyclonic portion with the screen intact in a tub using hot water and then soak it for a while and then shake it vigorously in a tub of hot water until the unit is clean? No need to take it apart at all. There should not be any debris that can't be washed out in there in the first place unless it is like a cement material that hardens. Normal dust/dander can be easily disolved in hot water. That's what I just did.
It's hard to explain but when the dust gets wet it doesn't just fall off. it clumps together. unfortunately to do it the proper way a full disassemble is necessary.
@@diyhandyandy9999 That's why you shake it vigorously!....... LOL
@@halohms Also I think the dirt would all just clump together. when its all washed out the vacuums will smell like new again too
There are 7 screws inside that WILL RUST, found out the hard way.
The construction of the cyclone will not allow you to wash it put thoroughly. The are pockets in there that cannot be fully drained in any orientaton without taking it appart. Also, you will not be able to fully dry it out and will introduce more bacteria that causes the bad smell. There is just no way around it and Dyson should have made it a consumer serviceble part.
Pretty silly design. Needed more levels of filtration. It's like they only considered performance for 5 minutes, plus styling, with no consideration for longevity and maintenance. I detest even dumping the stupid dustbin flap and washing the dumb filter... There's no way I'm ever opening this knucklebuster all the way like this.
I'm going with bags and disposable filters forevermore.
Kudos to you and your patience. Share some with the rest of us mere mortals.😅
This vacuum has never ran properly since I bought it. It instantly shuts down and have to wait for it to start again to continue vacuuming.
27 mins... Jeez man.
