This is the engagement in all aspects of the game I want to see from JT every night. Offensively mixing it up with threes, mid-range, attacking the basket, rebounding, and contesting shots. Nothing out of his capabilities. His imprint in the game is undeniable. Not much to ask this talented of q player. Rest of the team follows his lead. Love to see it.

I expected the fans in Cleveland to show up and support. The fan base in Cleveland is different than Miami.

Loved the mid game adjustments from Joe/players. We've seen the game to game adjusts but not as definitive proof in game. That was good to see. Also loved seeing Jrue be the dog we know he is. I don't even care about the scoring, it was the tenacious defense and rebounding that had me pumped.
As far as adjustments... Look you can't play al 39 minutes. He's just going to look like he looked. I think Joe really needs to get Tillman in there. A fresh tillman is better than a tired al, and its not like you need to play dude 20 mins. 10 mins would do wonders.
I'd also like to see them run their regular offensive scheme until about the 10 second mark on the shot clock AND THEN work the mismatches. Feels like the emphasis on hitting the mismatch from the jump is leading to a much more stagnant and predictable offense. Also... shooters need the ball in their hands to get rhythm. When we are kicking and swinging and driving and swinging.. everyone touches the ball and starts to get a feel. Thats when the threes start falling across the team too.
Finally JT performing well... Still wish he was more efficient shooting

@@tylerriley2587I would expect KP to be out until the finals or possibly the reminder of the season. Giannis Antentakoumpo suffered the same injury the last game the buck played us in the regular season. That injury took place 3 weeks and 5 days before Milwaukee was eliminated from the playoffs. When asked before that game by reporters Giannis indicated that he was not close to coming back yet and likely would need a few more weeks before he would be able to play limited minutes. Obviously everyone is different but KP has a decade long history of foot calf and ankle problems. Giannis is much stronger and more durable. KP is very skinny and doesn’t have a lot of muscle. So there is that. All anyone can do is speculate at this point. We don’t need KP to win the ECF especially since OG annunoby is cooked with that hamstring injury. We definitely need KP healthy for 7 games against Denver, Minnesota, OKC or the Mavs.

I'm really surprised the celtics haven't done something else to mix it up and give a different look. Like a box-1. But yeah, just challenge mitchell to average 50 and do everything you can to keep the others pinned down. Even if mirchell dropped 50 last night it's still not guaranteed a win. Gotta trust jrue and dwhite to hound him and make it as tough as possible. Can he shoot 60% from the field for 7 games?
Once again I find myself impressed by the Hustle of White even though his recent Offensive production has taken a dip.
Teammates are still trusting him to shoot and more importantly,he trusts himself.

Jaylen had one of the most efficient games of the playoffs, including CRITICAL buckets that carried in the 4th quarter, yet story #1 in Celtic discourse is “OMG Tatum’s 11/25, 2/8 from three bounceback was incredible!”
story #2 is “Holiday finally had a game!” which is weird because he usually plays well, he just isnt used on offense & therefore doesnt get into a rhythm shooting the ball.
Celtics fans & media will do ANYTHING to bury Jaylen Brown as this team’s best player halfway thru the playoffs.

JB is this teams best player and needs to overtake this teams leadership role. Like KG did in 08. KG was the second best player but he was the hype man and leader of the team. JB needs to overtake that role

Super happy that we won but I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the switching on Mitchell or Mobley at all. I understand that may have been the game plan to help keep everyone else out the game but I just feel that particular defensive scheme was lazy and cost us heavily in the first half. When we stopped switching as often and started staying home & even blitzing / doubling a bit more in the 2nd half, we stopped them from scoring. Is it just me that recognised that? I’d love to know what we all think about our defense in the first half!

not a celtics fan but im curious what you all think about tatum. I saw a lot of people freaking out that yall lost again and i didnt think anything of it but a lot of them were actually celtics fans who were saying stuff like "tatum always gets like this" i didnt watch the game and dont watch many celtics games so i was really confused as to why celtics fans were saying this about tatum. can someone explain what happens with him and if it worries you and why or why not?
I think JT has the right mindset (even keel, team ball, not chasing the mvp anymore, winning matters).
People freak out because they still think JT is an alpha scorer (hes not). hes closer to tim duncan than he is to kobe. His skill set is more similar to draymond green, grant hill or pippen over luka, mj or SGA.
I'm not worried about JTs offense as long as we win. I would criticize his shot selection, especially in yhe 4Q. This is because my expectation is for him not to really score alot. I expect.him though to get double digit boards, 5+ assists and playing excellent defense. I want him to make the right reads and contribute more outside scoring. I do expect him to score 15-20 ppg. I'm not like other celtics fans who shit the bed every time JT scores less than 25 (which has been the case for most of the playoffs).
He is playing 20% more minutes in the playoffs but is scoring 30% less than the regular season.

1. The celtics expect to win this year or next at the most. Brad has pretty much changed everything around the team (staff, coach and roster) except the Js. If they dont win it then it'll be time to break up the Js. Most fans dont want that. Plus Al is turning 38 and is almost retiring. Theres a sense of desperation.
2. Every loss is overreacted to because they typically lose the same way (loss at home, giving up 3s, perceived lack of effort/energy, Js iso ball).
3. People overreact to JT scoring less (even though they're winning 75% of their games) because the media drives a strong narrative that you cant win without a heliocentric star. The concept of TEAM is pretty much lost except to Brad stevens who grew from the Pop coaching tree (and the spurs the typical bastion of this concept has sucked for so many years). This is further emphasized that the celtics had a top 5 regular season in history but wasnt recognized or awarded as such. They were the only 55+ win team in history who didnt have a single representative in any of the top 3 of the regular season awards before the NBA reversed course and gave Brad executive of the year.
4. Theres also a palpable feeling of the stars aligning: Cs being the clear better team over all eastern conference team, vanquishing rival miami who had an injured butler, gsw not in the playoffs, denver looking vulnerable (only team to give manhandle boston in the regular season consistently)... the opportunity to get back to the finals and win it is there but the fans think the Cs arent locked in (losing at home drives this).
