- A goofy neutralization combined with a hard, fast race and heavy disagreements led to many confused and grumpy bike racers and officials. It all seemed to work out in the end.
1st Thomas Gibbons - Automatic Abus Racing
2nd Danny Summerhill - Reign Storm Racing
3rd Robin Carpenter - L39ION of LA

I cannot tell you how invaluable it is to us audience to hear you mention actual names of individual riders. Great stuff Will.
Thanks!! really think these characters add so might as well name them!
Tomorrow we need you out at wnr like this!
@@freddysorangepill8123 haha I'll film one before the summer is over. 🤣
I had pleasure of seeing Brendan Fury and Danny Summerhill racing madison in Detroit-both total beasts on the short track
Another great video. There are a lot of bike racing, on-board vids out there that are near unwatchable. Your editing and commentary makes these a great watch. What a tough, crazy race and filled with "technical difficulties" to boot! Strong work, Will.
Thanks Doug! I try to make them so that I'll watch them too 😅
@@williamrhardin I'll have to step up my game for my racing videos. What editing program are you currently using?
Damn good vid! Brings back memories of the NCCA days in the SEC conference. I remember several insane collegiate races/crits in Athens GA.
7:59 wow that is a keen eye to catch him dropping a gel in the video. I could have watched that at 1080p full screen five times and never seen him drop the gel 🤓🧐🤓🧐.
That race was nuts! Strong work will.
I did Athens 2 years in a row back in the 1990s, unfortunately not finishing either time due to getting dropped (that little rise did me in) and pulled, along with a lot of other racers. The crowds back then were the same as I see in your video. Huge. Also, the race back then was in the opposite direction.
LOL...I got pulled like within 7 minutes in the 4/5 and didn't make my "Masters" race this year. The year before I was the very first crash in turn 3 with a pinch flat. So two years in a row I've not finished this race but I'm going to come back next year. Super fun race!
Good work Will
That was a hell of a race, you lost your head unit, you lost the front camera, the race was neutralized, you lost a ton of positions.... You are way tougher than me mentally and physically 🤘👍. Party on Wayne!
kudos big dog, you guys are wild
Thanks boss man!
The officiating all week was horrendous. The officials weren't paying attention to the race and had no idea there was a break let alone who was in it. Will, what you didn't see at Newnan was that there was only 1 official working the entire race. From start finish duties to the pit, one guy. That's how the break was able to get a huge gap. They went on the same lap that 30 guys tried to come out of the pit, only the official released them after the field had passed and they had to chase back to the peloton and were exhausted by the time they got there. Btw, both crashes in Newnan were caused by Gomez. He was riding desperate and reckless.
I was watching the livestream and was flabbegasted and actually pretty p$ssed that the announcers had no idea what the problem could be after the race was neutralized. Hell I turned away for a moment and didn't realize the breakaway was back in the group and Andreau seemed totally oblivious to why Gibbons and Reign Storm were trying to get their attention. I was screaming at the computer screen 'they want their gap given back to them !!'. Seriously how could an ex-pro not immediataely think of that in that situation. Are there any rules for this series ? I remember Andreau asking the riders what they wanted to do ....huh?? I've been to the Athens race a few times in the last 20 years or so and everytime there is always some wild drama taking place that makes me think it's the wild west out there and how I don't want to go back. It's a good race just a bit wild sometimes.
Very wild! Hard to get a whole picture of the race for anyone
The best way to go fast is to not slow down sounds like you had a great rim brake selection for that
Sound theory, a great rim brake selection for that tactic
Hey boss, what software do you use for your data overlays?
Telemetry Overlay, made some custom guages in there, and it runs a but faster than dashware which norcal uses
@@williamrhardin would you say it’s worth spending the 150 for telemetry?
