You have no clue how much of a treat you got yourself into.
For something with only 20something episodes this has left one of the bigger impressions for me.
All because regardless of what else is alongside it the show is always fun. Certain fights got me with hype tears.
Yet it still flew under the radar ultimately as far as I could tell.
Super glad to see you watching this at last.
Honestly the best thing about this series for me is that there isn't some big SAO "We're trapped in the game!" style twist, it's just hardcore gaming through and through
This and Bofuri just take the lighthearted MMO setting to give us a good time and it's really refreshing!

Like after the antagonists loose the tournament to the MCs they essentally say "GG" and come to hang out and even do questing together afterwards.
Some say that the show has no stakes because of this, which is just not true. I think it's the opposite, since even if they die, it's not permanent, so they are allowed to lose
This anime was definitely a nice surprise for me. I didn't expect much, but it's actually one of the best VRMMO-themed anime I ever watched. Even though my gamer profile has never been on the tryhard side of the things, unlike Sunraku, I definitely got into it. Like so much into it that as soon as I finished watching it, I had to reactivate my WoW account for one month in order to nolife my heart out on hardcore servers :D
OMG YES! Shangri-la was one of those animes where the MC's charisma absolutely BULLDOZES through the whole thing. Dude was straight-up Kazuma-levels of funny!
Also little fun fact, Kazuma's and Emul's Voice Actors are also recently married, and you can really feel their chemistry in the anime.

Legitimately a very good anime that ran concurrently with Frieren and Apothecary Diaries, and unfortunately was overshadowed by both of them. It's rare to get an anime that runs consecutive seasons, but with those three we had three at the same time, and it was great having that consistency for one half of a year.
Honestly, this is one of those anime I wasn’t sure I would like, but it turned out to be one of those rare dark horse series that turned into a winner right off the bat. I can’t wait to see your reaction to future episodes. There are a ton of moments that are going to be a joy to see you react to.
Easily one of my favorite anime from the last year. They really know their audience
Glad my brother ended up convincing me to watch this. Took a while to get into, but definitely enjoyed my time with this series. Also excited for the next season coming up rather soon. (October 17th)

Love it! Great video! SLF was another that took me a couple months after airing to start because I expected another generic vrmmo story. Glad it proved me wrong!
I wasnt sure if i was gonna like this one. Seems like most gaming anime dont build their game world in a way that makes sense. But this one did a good job balancing the frantic tone of hardcore nerds talking about stuff they liked and game play mechanics that seem legit with story telling beats that suck you in.
Absolutely thrilled you’re covering this. I only ever was going to watch the first episode because I just assumed it was another trashy power fantasy show, but it ended up being my favorite show of the year. It only gets better as it progresses too, so hype to see it covered!

I love the attention to detail at 13:30 where other players could be seen wearing mud frog gear in the area where its' prevalent, and props for making it look unique, too.

First episode blew me away, I didn't expect such a high-quality anime. Great writing, plot, animation, and so dam funny. Also the best supporting characters in Rabituza, not just Emul; her boss daddy Vysache is my favorite in the whole show. His Song of the Forge in episode 11 is jaw-droppingly excellent.
The time emul hanging at sunraku shoulder and help him in fight reminds me of miquela and promised consort radahn
If it wasnt for Friren then this would have been AOTS for autumn 2023 in my eyes.

The worldbuilding, the characters, the voice acting, the animation, the fight scenes, and the characters. ALL OF THEM will just keep getting better and better! LetMeSoloHer became a legend in Elden ring, because he was joining public "parties" to fight the hardest boss in the game, wearing nothing but a loincloth and a jar on his head. With his name being LetMeSoloHer, people just let him fight the hardest boss alone. Also, when you summon people to help, the boss has more hp, meaning he was basically fighting 2-3x the HP of the hardest boss in the game, alone, with no armor. He succeeded (nearly) every time, and people started posting about it online, where he became a legend.

One of the under rated things about this anime is they dont assume the audience is gamers and takes its time to explain how games work and the terms used, it makes it way more accessible
The author of the novel is a HUUUUUGEEE gamer, to the point that they tried to find out if they could pass the purchase of the latest Armored Core as a work expense for reaserch XD

This anime easily became an instant favourite of mine and the Dub is one of the few instances where it actually improves the experience. Between the hilarity, references to real life games and the relatability of Sunraku's shenanigans, it was all to easy for it to keep laughing like a kid. Couple all that with the unique art style, use of CGI to improve scenes (not take away from them) and the over the top voice acting and this anime easily gets my personal seal of approval right along side greats like Code Geass and Log Horizon.
Hope you're allowed to show off more scenes from this show too because I noticed there was a lot of gaps in between scenes and figured you could only show so much due to Copyright and all that nonsense

You know, I _did_ get the sense that Emul felt like the actual main love interest, and it's nice to finally be able to put my finger on why.
I bindged this in 3 days because i enjoyed this so much
I figured the eye candy in this one would eventually get your win attention. Who'd think I'd enjoy the story of someone else playing a game so much, but here we are and man is it both fun and pretty.

Funny enough I go onto mention that in either the 2nd video or the 3rd, I had just reached that part where he's introduced and was like...I know that voice, Googled it, chuckled and added it into the script the next day :D
Also I gotta say, Kiseski, or Daybreak, my god I'm LOVING that game, it's the first one where I'm talking to literally everyone as the other 10 overwhelmed me a little when I tried and I've done up to Chapter 4 every single side quest you can do. Glad I've got Daybreak 2 to play next but sad I'll have to wait likely nearly on a year to play Daybreak 3 ; (

@@maracald Oh my god me too dude, don't know what I'll do when it's over, especially since the CEO said we're at the 80-90% mark and yet years ago they said Calvard was the start of the second half! I just hope these next few games sell so insanely well that the CEO backtracks on that.
@@AnimeWins yeah it sound alike there should be maybe 2 or 3 more but the upcoming in JP one is called farewell zemuria so that sounds like it's finished.
I think we'll still be getting legend of heroes games but just totally unrelated to all these.

I didnt expect to care when i first heard about it, but the moment i heard the first opening i knew it was a god teir anime, and the humor is absolutely incredible, favorite anime of the season for both season it aired

@@nate1daniels745 I finished 1 and 3, 2 was stuuuuupidly difficult at the end, even on easy mode, (how I play them all) so I quit that. I just it really dumb that you specifically needed an item to beat the final boss, but they don't tell you anything about it. An item or a piece of equipment, but yeah it was annoying lol.

Another nice Video mate ! Too bad that you constantly have to bring up your hate of CGI in every episode multible times though... Yes - often it is implemented quite badly but in many cases it looks great ( often even in older anime ). I overall do welcome progress and the implementation of new tech to make things look even more great. Things take time to get good and better - but those things will not go away ... Still, great content as always ! 👌

Yes I really enjoyed that one too, especially Stabby Mike xDD But yeah you can totally see how he's gone levels above in terms of skills in Eternum.
I watched a few episodes and it's actually pretty good.
The manga has insane art so it will never do it justice but they were doing a good job at the start.
That said the plot wasn't interesting enough to keep me there but im sure many people loved it or at leats stuck with it

Ok but at 15:47 if this is your first vr mmo or even your first mmo its only fair to assume the wierdo players (sunraku) would be a mob. Same goes for the knight if you have no knowledge of mmos that kind of armor is normally used for bosses so having that heading towards you, you would think its a roaming field boss

I read the manga and I love it. It's so nice that the quality of the anime is this good. The story is really not masterclass, so shitty animation would have ruined the whole adaptation, similar to "I'm a spider, so what".
