I shot this film over 4 trips to NYC 2011-2012. The time-lapse sequences you see here were made (mostly) from hundreds of thousands of still images. A Canon 7D and T3i were the main cameras, with backup from a couple of older Nikon Coolpix 5000 point and shooters. A few clips are sped-up video.

I am thirteen years old (yeah i knoe what you are thinking. "She doesn't know anything, shes just a little baby" and my biggest dream is to live in new york. Ever since i was about 7, when i first saw pictures and got to know a little about New York I've been feeling like i belong there. Every single good dream I've had have been in New York City. :)
This is my new favorite time lapse because it not only shows the time lapse with some music in the background like most others, it also has added sound effects that make you feel fully immersed... miss this city very much

now i am 18 and i live in greecee the biggest dream of mine is when i become 30 to come and spend the rest of life in new york i love that city soooooo much i hope my dreams come true

It is amazing to think today, in retrospect, that even in 1950, only New York and London had more than 8-million inhabitants. By the year 2000, there were 25-cities in that list. By the year 2015, THIRTY THREE cities are expected to have more than 8-million inhabitants. The movement of more than a billion people to the cities over the last two decades is staggering; it is the largest population movement in history.
This is why I love New York City and hope to live there one day soon

Absolutely beautiful! I loved it so much I had to watch it twice. I especially love the soundtrack and sound effects you set to it; really made the video. My favorite part is when the sun is setting and you see all the lights come on in the buildings. Absolutely lovely.

all movement is done in post, with either After Effects or Photoshop. Camera setups were all done on stationary tripods or clamp mounts.

Some really stellar camera work! (I even like the time lapsed sound too). I've been to Radio City Music Hall (as a kid). It's something to think that it was opened as far back as December, 1932, shortly after it had become the "first mega city in human history."

depends on what you're doing - for skylines you can't beat weehawken unless you have access to rooftops. Colombia circle is good to get shots looking straight down streets. Good luck
