Why did you get rid of your robertshaw thermostat? I've read they are the best and am about to install a 10420T wifi.

Wow, this is so spot on for my needs. I want to replace the exact same thermostat and don't have a c wire. Thank you. Question, I've read on some reviews that this wifi model really eats batteries - do you regret going with this model. The non wifi model of this apparently has no issues with battery life - easily lasts a cooling season.

I am using Lithium AA Batteries for the past 30+ months, and the battery indicator is still 5 bars out of 5 bars. Never had to replace the batteries, and by the looks of it, it will last 10+ years without changing batteries. Completely a surprise for me. I have links in the description area of the video also. you skipped a big step here. As luck would have it I am working with the same 2 thermostats, which color wires go to what on new thermostat?

You pulled the C wire from somewhere. Did you use 5 wires? Because you started with 4. I have the same thermostat and want to upgrade to a smart one.

Do you have to turn off any breaker off before installation or not ?

I'm a risk taker, I don't turn off any breakers. I'm still alive to talk about my adventure

How long did the batteries last with WiFi on?

With WIFI the entire time, I've been using these Lithium Rechargeables amzn.to/3fT5XN0 and after 2+ years its still 5 bars out of 5 bars, still on the original charge. So I'm guessing if you use these regular AA Lithium Energizers amzn.to/3ArEE44 it will probably last 10 years without ever replacing them.

@@PoolarityChannel Wow! That’s incredible. I would have thought the WiFi radio would eat through batteries without using a C wire.

@@squarebomb20 Yeah. an unexpected pleasant surprise. Battery life was a big concern for me. Its been nearly 30 months and the battery is still 5 bars out of 5. Its as good as a permanent power source. Was afraid I would have to constantly replace the AA every 6 to 12 months. Probably will last 10 years.
