I've been watching your videos recently, since I first became fascinated by this brilliant art hear and was so excited to get PUNCHING!!. I made the novice mistake of buying my kits and all my other craft supplies at the same online giant store. I can't stress enough to anyone just starting out, just how important the proper tools and material are. I was so excited until I started to attempt and struggle and just got so frustrated. The kit was absolute junk, I'm pretty sure I bought some other kits, I usually go crazy and over buy, But I got up today and ordered a wood needle, that's a no brainer, I got a flimsy piece of useless kaka. The wood one did say 'adjustable' but who knows! A WOOD loom, I never knew they made junky plastic ones that are impossible to work with unless you want to use it as an odd boomerang with your dog!! The loom was a nightmare just to close and it never got 'drum tight! Everything was wrong and I was so bummed out. And the crappy needle was useless, no what I thought I was getting and it wasn't cheap!. And also the needle was very small so there was only embroidery thread, not the same plush, textured, unique and beautiful look your projects consistently. I'll wait a few days to see if I get anything useful and if not I will be buying from the expert (you) from now on!! I love this project. My Mom isn't doing great and I would love to surprise her with something that came from my heart and my 2 year old nephew, though I may just hand knit him a little blanket with giant chenille yarn. Wish me luck and if everything goes to hell in a hand basket, you''ll be hearing from me, actually either way I'll be checking out your store.
Thanks again for your amazing tutorial. And for now I'll work on another new craft, I'm making a giant macrame cat bed/swing/hammock that's multi level, suspended from my 10 foot ceiling in my kitchen, that will also look like a beaded chandelier. I'm just going nuts with crafting! Why go slow and sensible to get comfortable when you can take on a huge project that may or may not turn out ok?

Vera, your instructions are fool proof. I have your needles and LOVE them as they are so smooth going thru the backing material. Your designs are so nice. The colors are soothing. I like your flexible threader. Do you offer them in your shop?

Hi Vera, I had a question for you, I'm in love with the print styles of William Morris. It was his work that inspired me to take a stab at punch embroidery!! They are very intricate but stunning! Would I just take an image from the internet , choose the proper size, print it and trace it onto my fabric and begin punching or is there a better way? I tried finding some patterns but they don't seem to exist. I will start off, once I actually get the right supplies with some smaller, much easier ones first!! If it's a rectangle would you use that other loom with the pipes?
Thank you in advance! And in the interim, if you happen to use a William Morris image in one of your kits, I'll be buying for sure!!
    Cheers!!

Can you use thinner needles for finer yarn? Why the thicker yarn? Thank you
